Jane | 64 comments I just wrote a little short story (actually inspired from a picture prompt from back in August)and was hoping to get someone to edit it for me.

I'm not looking for a professional or anything, just someone to read it, edit it for things like spelling, grammar, punctuation, flow, sentence structure, etc.

I'm pretty good at editing, but now and then there's the odd thing I miss because I know what it's supposed to be and my brain fills it in.

If someone would also be willing to critique it and offer an opinion on it at the same time as they were editing, that would be even better! Maybe some comments/suggestions on my characters, my style, flow, etc.

(Also advice on a title would be lovely!)

It's 1,851 words long (4 pages, size 12, single spaced)

Email works best for me if you are willing to edit!

(really sorry if this is the wrong place to post this!)

Kaje Harper | 17375 comments This is fine - are you looking for a beta reader to help polish it up, or a final edit for typos and such?

As for a title, I've posted here asking for title help, either looking for suggestions or for a vote. (The group came up with "Rainbow Briefs" for my short stories :) If you have some titles in mind, feel free to post the list for comments.

Jane | 64 comments ummm a beta reader I suppose.

Currently I've titled it Spring Breakers but I'm pretty sure that's the title of a movie that I don't want it associated with.

I called it that because two best friends go to the beach for spring break with the majority of their classmates, and basically by the end of the day they are boyfriend and boyfriend.

I've considered calling it simply "Together" but that seems to simple/boring, even though it's the last line of the story.

(I'm terrible at coming up with titles)

Kaje Harper | 17375 comments Yeah, that movie isn't a good fit (although finding a title no one has used is hard, so you can reuse things.)

An Unexpected Break
Beachcombing
Through New Eyes
Better Than Sandcastles
What We Did On Our Vacation
Falling in the Sand
Breaking Plans

ooooh those are really good! I especially like Beachcombing, Better Than Sandcastles, and Falling in the Sand.
