Nominate a book that has mythological elements in it for our book of the month in March

Nominations will end around February 20th. The poll will be on for 5-7 days, which will (hopefully) give us enough time to borrow or look for the book that had the most votes

I'm going to nominate Magic Bites, the first in the Kate Daniels series. Over the course of the series the Ilona Andrews team utilizes many different types of mythology.

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews

Andrea Jackson (paperbackdiva) | 23 comments Shadow's Edge (Night Prowler, #1) by J.T. Geissinger I just finished it. Loved the world-building, so-so with the characters. I'd love to hear what others think.

The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms (The Inheritance Trilogy, #1) by N.K. Jemisin I missed out on another group's BOM but I heard such wonderful things about the book, I'd love to read it.

B. Howerton | 3 comments Well, I'd be happy to offer up my new novel Gravettian Goddess, which is heavily mythologically themed. Here's a link to my blog entry where I explain what I am trying to do in the book in terms of myth:

I'd be happy to make it free on Amazon Kindle for a day, so that everybody participating in this book discussion can download it free (It's actually free today, Saturday 1 feb) or send out a MOBI or EPUB version. Here's the Amazon link:

Xavier Moore (goodreadscomxavier_moore) | 3 comments The Forever Man by Xavier Moore

I nominate my debut novel: THE FOREVER MAN

****

Tonight, Harlem hitman Willie Bishop will be:

SHOT * STABBED * DECAPITATED * EVISCERATED * BLOWN UP * RUN DOWN * BLUDGEONED * ELECTROCUTED * POISONED * DROWNED * CRUSHED BY STAMPEDING ELEPHANTS * STRUCK BY LIGHTNING—AND THE BROOKLYN G-TRAIN.

And then things are really going to get bad...for Willie has just inherited that which all but angels crave—immortality. Now, hunted by a cadre of superhuman assassins, he must choose whether to protect a troubled and targeted thirteen-year-old mother-to-be or his own extended life.

Willie never wanted to live forever...but is he prepared to die—today?

****

Includes Hindu, Roman, Persian, Greek, Ancient Egyptian, West African, Chinese, and Contemporary Urban American Mythology

May I add my two book YA Fantasy Series, Tales of Finndragon to this impressive list.

The story has elements of Celtic mythology, and introduces certain mythological creatures. Book 1, The Legend of Finndragon's Curse sees 3 children set off in search of their missing father who has fallen victim to a 6th Century Welsh curse, believed to be no more than a legend.

I would be happy to provide a mobi or pdf copy, regardless of whether my book gets selected or not, to any member willing to review by 15th of April when I'm running a Kindle Countdown Promo blog tour.
