Mathew tried to concentrate on the teacher. He needed this credit to pass the course. He needed a good mark, period, to do well. He sighed, he kept wondering about Haley, wondering if they would turn out to be good friends, or even more then that... maybe.

She sighed. This class was so slow. She didn't really hear anything during the class. Then the bell rang."Finally I thought the class would never end." She turned to look at Matthew.
Mathew laughed, "You and me both." He grabbed his bags and stood, unsure of what to say next. He hoped Haley would say something. She seemed so sweet, and smart. Stop daydreaming! He told himself.
"Thank you. Did you catch the assignment that we were suppose to so?" She asked smiling.
Mathew chuckled, "Read pages 22-26 and answer the questions on 28." He answered, walking with her towards the doors. "Soooo, are we going to study now? Or later?" he asked.
"Whenever is good for you." Then she saw Michelle come their way. She wanted to back down. Then she wanted to make her jealous."Does this girl ever leave you alone?" She muttered."Hi are you sure your not busy this weekend?"
"No." He replied to Haley."Yes. I'm sure." He told Michelle. "Really have a lot of homework." He said to her. "Super busy."
"You sure." She said in a little sweet innocent girl voice. "He is busy with me. We have a busy weekend." She said smiling. She always wanted to do that. She looked over at Matthew trying to say sorry.
"Wow congratulations your his I don't fourth girlfriend. Call me when you teaches you about heartbreak." She was gone.
"I'm soo sorry for saying that."
Mathew watched Michelle leave. Then he shook his head, "No, it's ok." He looked at his watch, "So I guess I'll see you around four to study?" He asked.
"Yeah fours good. See you then." She walked away. Half to her dorm. She started jumping up down. She had someplace to go to.
Mathew smiled, and walked out to his dorm room. He entered and found his room mate sprawled in the floor, playing video games. "Again?" He asked, "Shouldn't you be studying?""Nah." He said, flipping over and smiling, "I already studied."
Mathew sat down with his text book, "If you say so."
Should she dress up? They were only going to study. She walked up the stairs of her dorm. Maybe he wasn't a hopeless a crush.
Four o-clock was growing closer. Mathew watched the clock like an eagle would a rabbit. He kept trying to look back at his books, but he was excited to study with Haley. "Hey, you're going to have to leave at four." He said to his roomie."What?" he said, "You kicking me out again?"
"Yup, get out."
He sighed, getting up and walking out the door, "Dude, this is the last time."
Mathew smiled, maybe.
She looked at the clock. It was almost four. She got up and walked to appear his dorm. She went of to the stairs and mocked oh his door. "Hey it's me Hayley." She said in a sweet voice. She told herself to clam down.
Mathew heard a knock on his door, he opened it and smiled, "Hey!" He said. He motioned for her to come in, "Come on in!"
"Hi." She came in. "So what subject do you want to start with?" Not knowing what else to say. She really didn't know how to I tread with people that much.
Mathew walked over to his desk, "Well, I thought we might start with history, because I really need to work on that subject." He said smiling, "Is that ok with you?"
"Yeah history is really easy for me." Was she bragging. She didn't think it was bragging. She was very nervous.
"Awesome." He said, sitting down on the floor with the text book, "Then you can help me out." He flipped to chapter 30, "Could you help me out with this chapter? I had no idea what was going on..." He laughed.
"Ok." She paused."Let's start with what you do know and expand." She looked at him. Her face turned a beat red. "So what do you know?" She was having hard time concentrating. Will she ever get a boyfriend?
Mathew started explaining, and watched as Haley blushed. He smiled inwardly to himself and continued. She was so sweet. He finished explaining what he knew, and then looked up, "So how bad was it?" He asked.
"Well you knew most of the things." She pointed out the things he forgot to mention. "See it wasn't that bad." She laughed. Then she quickly glanced down.
Mathew grinned. "So what do you want to work on?" He asked, "I seem to remember that you needed help catching up in a subject?" Haley was obviously nervous. He wanted her to feel welcome.
"Yeah um I need help." She froze. She wasn't really comfortable talking around people. She was thinking about going. She got up."I um sorry I have to go." She looked down. She started walking towards the door.
"What?" He asked, surprised, "Already? We haven't even started yet!" He wanted her to stay longer. They had only studied for one subject.
She turned around."I'm sorry it's just." That she was afraid to talk to someone. "I don't really know how to talk to people or interact with them either." She looked down right away again.
Mathew grinned, "Another subject I'm good at, come on back here. I can help you out." He smiled, "Think of me as you personal friend, and tutor." He winked.
She looked up from the ground and smiled. She walk back to where she was. "Ok." She never expected help from him. She needed to break out of her shell. She was so used to being picked on for everything she did. She didn't even go to prom. She had no one to go with. Matthew was different, he treated her kindly. "Thank you for being my first friend." She said in a timid voice. She had friends but they always ended up being mean in the end. She felt silly for saying thank you for being a friend.
"No problem." He smiled. She was so delicate. Like a flower, wanting to fit into a world of trees. She was beautiful, never the less. He motioned to his room, "So, shall we continue?"
"Yes we should." She looked up from the floor. She told herself this would be a new beginning. She will make it hers. She will become a somebody instead of a girl who let's everybody walk on her. Expect she will do the right things. She won't become like the girls who treated her horrible.
Mathew nodded, opening up another text book. He patted the bed beside him, inviting Haley to sit with him. "Ok so this one is about...." he started talking to her about the subject, watching as she listened with interest. "You think you got that?" He asked after.
"Yeah. I think I got it." She was on his bed. In a guys room. She never been in a guys room. She never been in any room , but her own. "So what are you majoring in?"
((I won't be on until later Saturday. I'm sorry I didn't reply as quickly today I had a big rehearsal today))
((Thats ok, I wasn't on until now either, and I wont be on until Sunday again... Weekends can be busy, lol))He smiled over at her, "I'm in Social Communications. All that social justice stuff really intrigues me." He brushed his bangs away, "How about you?"
"I'm undecided at this point. I have no clue what I want to do." She let a light laugh out."When I was little always wanted the to be a Princess."
"Ah," He said. "That's normal." He chuckled, "I always wanted to be an astronaut." He said honestly.
"That would get lonely. At least your dream is realistic." She looked up at him."So where do you come from you? "
He smiled, "I'm from down south. I didn't used to live here. The sun and the beaches was my home. But I like it here too I guess." He looked over at her, "What about you?"
"New York City." She would of told him where she lived before. She wasn't ready to talk about her parents death. She couldn't think the last day she was happy. She always had the fear of being nervous or too shy to be happy.
