Personality: Shy
Background: Will be told through the story.
Other: She loves to sing and read.

Haley's life was simple. She didn't ask for much. They never had much for her at least. When her parents died she went to live with her aunt and uncle. They never really paid much attention to her. Her cousins always went to big parties. She was never invited it never bother her. It amazed her how she was freshman in college at 18. She worked hard through school with little to no social life. This was chance for her to start over. She thought Will I make myself a social life?
Mat stared at the computer in front of him. He was supposed to be studying, but he didn't have the heart to start. He was rich, he had friends, he had the looks, he had it all. But something still felt missing. I'll get a good job, and then my life will be perfect. He thought to himself.
She walked into her first class. Computer science easy. "Um hello I'm new here." She said in a very shy timid voice. The teacher gave her glance."Haley?" She nodded her head. She hating have to introduce herself. "There is an open desk by Matthew." She saw the teacher point to a boy looking at the computer. She walked very quickly to the computer desk. Avoiding contact at all expenses.
Mat looked up from his computer and at the new girl sitting beside him. She was blonde, and pretty. He smiled, "Hi." He said. "I'm Mathew, what's your name?"
She heard the someone talking to her. She looked up from her computer,"Hi my name is Haley." She quickly looked right back at her computer. She talks to one person who was boy. That was a very good start to her new life.
"Nice to meet you." He said. He looked back at his computer, smiling. It was always nice to meet new people.
She quickly got absorb in her work. This class was easy enough for her. She heard the bell rang. It was her free period. So she had to unpack still since she arrived later than all the other students. She wasn't paying attention to where she was going and she ran into someone. She looked up to see who it was.It was Matthew. She felt this going to leave a bad impression for him."I'm so sorry for running into."
"No," Mathew said, helping pick up her books, "It's my fault." He looked up at her, 'Hey, um. What period do you have now?"
"No it is my fault." She was horrible with people. She should of watched where she was going more often."Thank you.It is a free period. I have to unpack because I started and arrived late." She was really nervous. This was the longest she went with talking to someone.
Mathew smiled, "I've got a free period as well." He looked at her bags, "Would you like me to help you unpack?"
"Ah um." She couldn't decide. She wanted to run away from him right now, but that would be rude."Sure." She said these words hesitantly."I have to find my dorm though." She let a gentle smile come upon her face.
"I'll help." He said, pulling out a map. "What dorm are you in?" He asked, scanning the map of the campus.
"Um I think it mind be that one." She said pointing to the one farthest away from the campus.
"Ok." Mathew said, "Follow me." He began walking down the halls. He put the map away. After being there for two years, he knew the campus pretty well.
"Thank you." She smiled shyly. She looked down at the ground. She couldn't bare to look up at him. Could she consider him as a friend?
"No problem." He said, holding a door open for her. They stepped out into the fresh air and began walking across the lawn. "Ah, here we are." He looked up at the big building quickly before stepping inside.
Wow. This is where she would be staying. It look like a castle. A girl came down the steps."Hi Matthew." She had ex girlfriend written all over her." My name is Michelle." She didn't want to talk to any one else today. "My is Haley." She didn't know what else to say. She had nothing else to say. "Ah thanks for showing me my dorm." She quickly walked up the steps and found her room. Too much people.
Mathew watched as Haley left, and then turned to Michelle, "Hi Michelle." He said. "What are you up to?" He asked tiredly.
"Are you busy this weekend?" Hayley quickly unpacked her things. She thought Matthew was nice. She came down the steps. She heard Michelle's words. Girlfriend. She didn't care. He was another one of her hopeless crushes.
Mathew nodded, "I have homework." He said. "Sorry Michelle. See you around." He left quickly. He didn't like that girl much, not after their last breakup. He did not plan on getting back together with her ever again.
Ouch. That girl got served. She walked out of the building. She was laughing. She always did when people like that got put in their place. She wished she could have a friend or boyfriend. Maybe she will see Matthew around. That thought made her smile.
Mathew walked to his next class and took a seat at his desk. He thought about Haley, and how she was a much nicer girl than Michelle. He also thought about how he would like to get to know her better. She seemed like the type of person who would be a good friend.
She walked slowly to her next class. She finally found after awhile. She opened the door slowly. "I'm sorry I couldn't find this class." She notice a free seat by Matthew. They have another class together. She sat down and looked his way and smiled.
Mathew looked up and smiled. Another class with Haley! "Hey!" He whispered when the teacher's back was turned.
"Hey." She whispered back. She made progress. She would of done this before. This was a fresh start. "Since I'm little behind on my classes would mind helping me?" She asked.
"No problem." Mathew said. The teacher spun. "What was that Mathew?"
"Uh, just talking to myself sir." He didn't want to get Haley in trouble.
The teacher nodded and turned back to the chalkboard to finish writing the equation.
"You want to come to my dorm room tonight and we can work on homework together?" He whispered.
"Sure and sorry for getting you in trouble." She whispered carefully making sure the teacher didn't catch her or Matthew. She had a study date. She was so happy.
"No problem." Mathew smiled. "He didn't assign me more homework or something, so it is all good." The rest of the class passed like a breeze, and soon they were out in the hallways again, "So, what do you have next?" He asked.
"Um history." She smiled. She couldn't help herself. It was a silly crush. Guys like him never go for girls like her. Only in books and fairy tales. Not real life.
He grinned "What! That's crazy! I do to!" He smiled, "All of our classes together... we must be destined to be friends." He said, smiling. This girl was so sweet. Maybe, someday, she may turn out to be more than a friend. But sweet girls like her, never got guys like him. They got the good guys.
"Yeah that's crazy." This was so cool. She never had a friend before. She never wanted one more than she did now. She liked the feeling of happiness."I guess you can help find my way."
"Sure thing." He smiled. Together they walked down the hallways to the next class room. "So, where are you from?" He asked as they entered the class.
"From NYC." She didn't like going into details of her past. She was never treated like a person. More like maid. She sighed."I moved there when I was 9 after my parents died. I lived with my Aunt and Uncle with my two cousins." She shudder the thought.
They sat down at their desks. The teacher had not arrived yet, so they kept chatting. "Wow." He said, looking down, he hadn't meant to intrude, "I'm really sorry." He said honestly.
"No it is ok. It was alright there, but I never really fit in there." She looked at him with a reassuring look. He was very nice to her. "You know your my first friend." She muttered under her breath.
"Really?" He asked, "In that case, I am honoured." The teacher walked in and he lowered his voice, "We can talk more later." He whispered to her.
Her faced turn a bright red. She nodded. She tried to pay attention to the teacher. She was lost in thought. She was thinking about her and Matthew. A girl could day dream right?
