Dawn | 5 comments It is overwhelming and oftentimes tough to cope with friends and family going through difficult times. I will be talking about "Addiction Runs in My Family — How Can I Stay Healthy?" and excerpts from my book "From The Edge of the Cliff", tomorrow night, Thursday, February 20th, 8 PM CST.

Please feel free to call in with questions and comments. I'd love to hear from you and anyone who wants to talk!

Catherine Townsend-Lyon (authorcatherine-townsend_lyon) | 6 comments Sorry I missed your talk. I've been away a bit from GoodReads Dawn. And Stanley, good advice! I suffer Bipolar with manic depression and Panic with Agoraphobia, so I know the daily challenges of just getting out doors at times. I do meditation, walks, journal, and am just finishing my follow up book to my current book out, Addicted To Dimes, (Confessions of a liar and a Cheat)....which is my Life Story, starting as a little girl, as I'm a child sex abuse survivor, live with mental illness, and in recovery 7 years from addicted gambling and alcohol.

I went undiagnosed for years with Bipolar, and when all that "Old Stuff" from my childhood abuse came knocking on my door in my mid 30's, I started using gambling to "escape" "Numb out" and "hide" from all those feelings I didn't know how to process. So my next book will be more about what works in recovery, how to cope and manage with mental illness, and where to find good help for all these issues.
I blog a couple times a week as well on my Recovery Blog http://catherinelyonaddictedtodimes.w... as I share "The Rest Of My Story" in recovery.

Author, Catherine Townsend-Lyon :-)
