Can you tell us any more about the crop circle - What was the significance of the crop circle? Was there any theory of alien involvement? Who found the bodies? Were the bodies all related? Did the policeman work alone or did he have a partner?
Just a regular area of corn flattened to make a secluded area....no alien or sci if theme...just a simple small town murder mystery....I'm sorry I can't remember who found the bodies. I do not believe the detective had a partner, but am foggy on those facts. I think...but could b wrong, that the detective was some big shot when in high school...mayb football player?...then join the armed forces and was in a terrible incident leading to scars. Not facial disfiguring....but they did hint that townsfolk thought he might b a unic due to the wounds he received. Sort of everyone knew everyone and everyone's business. The dead bodies were not relatives to each other...but we're killed by the same person. Sorry it has been a long time n I really remember the "juiciest parts" the best...lol
No but it did jar a little bit of memory..I neglected to say...I think anyway...the bodies were decapitated by close up gun shots...not by a blade. I almost thought this was it, but am sure it is not. Ty for helping
Ok...big round of applause for Donna. After looking closer into The Wheat Field cause it just seemed sooooo close to what I remembered....it is he book I've been looking for. I'm sorry my mottled mind gave several erroneous hints. So it was two instead of three dead in a wheat, not corn, field. Also the woman was nearly decapitated by a gun shot to the face, while the man had is "junk" blown off...leading to the kinky sex theory. Also Pliny the detective was wounded in the genitals during the war. No wonder no one could help me find this...lmao. Thank you all for trying to help I spite of the wrong info I was unintentionally givin.
OMG - I am so glad it is found! I'm going to get myself a copy of this book. I can't wait to read it now. I actually came across it by typing "crop circle" into the search bar in Amazon's book category. It is easy to mix up details of books read a long time ago. I once spent nearly six months looking for a particular book, only to find it was a book I already had - I just couldn't remember two threads to the same story.
