Hey Sarah, jus a thought.. Where are you? Lol I'm in NZ so it's the 7th tomorrow. Shall we wait till it's the 7th where you are?
I'm in Australia and I think we're only a few hours behind so it'll be fine! I won't be able to start till the afternoon/night though coz of school.
I'm a wee bit behind! Jus started the 4th chapter. I love the story already, I really like Hazel and Augustus already. And I quite like John Greens style of writing.
I'm actually really nervous about getting more into this book... I avoid books or movies to do with Cancer as I lost someone to it a few years ago and it's something that is quite hard for me to read or watch about.
That's okay! I'm in the middle of Chapter 8.I'd forgotten how much I loved how John Green writes. His style is so different to other authors.
Oh, I'm sorry. That would be hard...
The more I read this book the more I love it! On the first page if the book he says that Hazel is depressed and I wasn't sure if the book was going to be all doom and gloom which seems awful saying since it's about a 16 year old girl with Cancer but it's not remotely doom and gloom which is so refreshing. I read so many books where the 'heroine' is all woe is me life is hard as two boys love me and you would expect that Hazel would se more depressed considering her situation but she is. She's not overly positive about beating it more realistic in the whole 'sh!t happens' kinda way. I'm not that far into it, I think 30% but I understand all the hype with this book. I guess I haven't really gotten to the hard/sad parts of the book yet though.
Also there's definitely a few authors I would like to write to about characters that haven't had there story finished! Lol
I know exactly what you mean about the heroines! I love how down to earth Hazel is, and how, although she does have her moments, she remains fairly positive.Yeah same here! Although I have never read a book that has finished mid-sentence. I think I would probably throw a fit if I did!
I have a love/hate relationship with Chapter 12 (view spoiler) (I'm not sure where you are up to, so I put the spoilers in. I actually finished that chapter a few days ago, but haven't been able to get online, I'm up to chapter 14 now!)
I have no words... It's 12:14am and I've jus read the last line and have spent the last half of the book crying. This book is heartbreaking. There is no other way to describe it.
I'm mad at myself for reading this book and then I'm also relieved I read the entire thing. This may not make sense to anyone but I feel like reading someone elses situation that was similar to mine was a way of dealing with my situation and starting the whole healing process which in turn makes me feel guilty for wanting to heal.
I'm rambling! I really don't know what to except I saw this book ending a different way
