Eraden gave him a sad look. Young vampires are controlled by their bloodlust. They know when to stop but it is their choice if they do or not. You will be very thirsty in the next few years, you'll need to feed regularly. Please, just remember this, everytime you feed hear these words: There will always be more blood but not another person like the one you're feeding from. I don't understand, this should have happened when you turned. I feel so weak Eraden fell forward. She was still conscious but barely. She needed to rest.

Eraden grabbed his hand. Sit with me. Ask me some questions you might have. And don't be afraid, what your feeling, thinking, believe it or not, it's all normal.

Eraden closed her eyes but thought, You do not. Your wolf does. You will eat meat but you will also enjoy the blood, you will most likely go after a deer. As for why only now? I have no idea, my best guess is a delayed reaction. My blood woke you up. I'm sorry but I'm also not. You were living a lie and sooner or later your vampire side would have shown itself. Better to have an expert present when it does. Don't be afraid, you won't kill Eraden gave a soft smile before drifting off into unconsciousness. She still held his hand.

Eraden reacted to something in her sleep. She pulled his hand and therefore him onto the bed. She wrapped her arms gently around him and nuzzled into his neck. Deep down she hoped that by holding onto him she could control the manner in which he shifted.

The next morning Eraden woke with a start. Someone was banging on the door. Hayden was still with her. She smiled and sighed in relief. But the banging was most rude and insistent. She had been having such a lovely dream too. She involuntarily hissed.
*Banging noises* "Son! Open this damn door! Where were you last night?! Are you even alive in there?!"
*Banging noises* "Son! Open this damn door! Where were you last night?! Are you even alive in there?!"

Eraden nodded but looked very sceptical. She laid down again and closed her eyes. She slowed her breathing and heart. She hoped she looked the part.
*Banging noises continue* "Son! This isn't funny! Open the door or I WILL break it down!"

The old wolf sighed. He let himself in and walked to Eraden's room. He came in with a resigned face and looked over the scene. Then he looked at Hayden. "Tell me again son."
Eraden was panicked, her heart rate and breathing picking slightly up but other than that remained still and quiet.

The old wolf sighed. "Son, I wasn't born yesterday and hatched out of an egg. You've fed. I can see it in your face and eyes. What's more this girl is a terrible actress. Get up please."
Eraden felt scared but knew he knew the truth. She got up and into a sitting position. She kept her gaze down. The old wolf took hold of her chin and gently pulled her face so she looked at him. He then leaned down and sniffed the side of her neck. He pulled back and let her go.
He looked at his nephew. "Son, you fed from her. Is this girl....is she........ is she your mate?"
Eraden's mouth fell open but she quickly closed it again.

Eraden looked at him. Deep down she felt.....disappointed. She looked at the old wolf again, it saddened her the Hayden denied who he was. She felt lost inside.
The old wolf got up. "I knew this day would come. I only hoped that you would quit the denial. But it seems you have yet to accept what happened to you son. Anyways, you've weakened her. She's not safe in your care. Come." He gently took Eraden's arm and pulled her to her feet.
Eraden herself swayed and was gently picked up by the older wolf. He carried her bridal style out of the house and headed towards a portal.

The old wolf turned. "Resell? What are you on about? I'm taking her back to Long Moon. She needs to be checked by Doc. As for you, you are coming with young man, now that your vampire side has been awakened you need to be trained. As for the pack, the last time I checked I was still Alpha. Now move it." He walked some distance away before turning back, "You are to stay away from her." He continued his walk to the portal.
Eraden looked back and felt sad, she didn't want to be separated from Hayden but the Alpha had spoken.

The old wolf turned and smirked. "I thought you said she wasn't your mate son? If she's not your mate and you've only hurt her you are not allowed to see her, at all."
Eraden looked back and forth between the two. She was scared and didn't want them to fight.

The old wolf got a strange gleam in his eye. "Very well, you may see her, but only supervised. Now get your things and let's go!" He turned and walked over to the portal. He jumped through.
Eraden looked back and held out her hand towards him before she too vanished. She blinked once they had gotten to the other side. Then she watched the old wolf smile and wink at her.

Era smiled at him, wanting to reassure him that everything was fine. She felt only tired now. Some more sleep and a feed would mend her right up. She turned her head towards the sky. It was so beautiful, and warm and peaceful, birds could be heard singing. It all lulled her to sleep again.
The old wolf carried her gently. He looked down at her for a long moment before looking back up. He sighed and said softly, "She's awfully small and scrawny. I always thought with your temper you'd go for a big brawny wolf. Let alone a vampire. You surprise me son in my old age."

The old wolf sighed. "This is what happens when you fight instead of learn son." He stopped and laid Eraden down on a soft patch of grass. She turned over and sighed, curling into a small ball.
The old wolf himself sat down on a large rock nearby and took out a old tobacco pipe and put some vanilla and chamomile blend into the pipe before lighting it. He took a few puffs before gesturing his nephew to sit.

The old wolf said softly, "You should hunt before we get back to the camp, our own blood will be very alluring to you now. Tell me firstly, why did you drink from her? Sure I'm assuming she offered but why?"

The old wolf merely nodded. He took a long puff from his pipe and then merely watched the scenery for a bit. Several puffs later of silence he shook his head. "Whoops, forgot you asked me something, this place is so peaceful." He gave a bout of some boisterous laughter.
Eraden turned onto her back and curled her arms over herself. The grass was soft and the sun warm with only the softest of breezes. She rested well as her body set about healing.
The old wolf observed this. "She doesn't seem bothered by our realm." Then he turned to his nephew. A serious look on his face. "Right. You do not choose your mate, your wolf does. At full moon the wolf inside cannot hunt or run or enjoy itself. It feels pulled to go to some place, it doesn't know where or why, but it always follows. Then it automatically goes to where your mate is. But of course you would have had to meet her before for this to occur. Then once found the wolf side becomes faded and you, your consciousness enters and instantly recognizes her as your mate. However, if you don't, your wolf takes over and you will most likely attack. That is not best for her." He looked over at Eraden, "She will most likely not survive it, not in her state." Then he looked over at his nephew. "I'm surprised your asking me this, surely you know the answer from last night?"

The old wolf's eyes widened. "Your didn't turn last night?! But that's impossible! What did you do?!" Then he calmed. "Son, like I said, your wolf knows, not you. But you do like her don't you? Why else is a vampire in your company? Not even just that she's a vampire. You said yourself, she keeps your temper in check, well, please son, go hunt. What your doing isn't healthy, nor wise, or do you want to go on a rampage when we get home?" He looked at him with no expression.

The old wolf looked sad. "Your not a vampire but your not a wolf either son. You are both and you are neither. It's up to you to figure out what and WHO you are." The old wolf was ancient in age, he had, had many lives and seen many things. He knew well enough what was going on in his nephew's mind.
Eraden woke up. She yawned and stretched. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. She felt slightly better. Then she saw Hayden. She instantly knew he was feeling sick and needed to feed. His vampire bloodlust had been awakened now after all. She got up and went to sit in his lap and tilted her head, exposing her throat to him.
The old wolf was alarmed, she couldn't. But knew it was for the best. He admired her bravery and kindness.

Eraden watched him. She placed a hand on his cheek. For now, you are a blood thirsty monster. Please drink, you are only doing more harm then good. Please, I have seen this happen to many times! They resist and resist and then one day they all lose it! They go on a rampage that leaves a whole town dead! Please, don't be like that! Feed when your hungry, it will make everything easier and you will get your bloodlust under control sooner, please!" Eraden started to cry, she had seen it happen so very often in her lifetime, they tried to be brave and strong, and they only ended up monsters and killers. It was strength that they could admit they were hungry and feed. Not resist and deny. She buried her head in his chest and held him tightly. She only wanted to help him, but he was only pushing her away.

Eraden stopped crying and gasped. She held him tighter as she felt his fangs enter her skin. Again her breathing slowed as did her heart. Her body relaxed and she melted into his for. Her eyes widened for a moment before returning to normal, her pupils dilating. Her body soft against his. She placed a hand on the back of his neck and pressed down. Encouraging him to feed. She arched her throat and tilted her head so he could have the best access. She rested the back of her head against his shoulder and just felt him feeding, drinking her blood and making him stronger and less hungry, even if it had the complete opposite effect on her. After a moment she only felt his mouth nuzzling her throat. She took a deep breath and sighed.
The old wolf watched this with a observant air. He kept his muscles ready however, she was already weak and this was not good. He didn't interfere however as this is what his nephew needed and she was a vampire after all, she knew what she was doing.

Eraden rubbed his back. She wondered why he stopped just to hiss. There was no one around, except his uncle, but why would he hiss at his uncle? She could feel herself getting weaker. Don't be afraid, everything is alright, you'll know, remember?
The old wolf merely raised an eyebrow at his nephew's hissing.

Eraden held onto him. She was weak but she was alive. She nuzzled into him.
The old wolf got up. He went over and pried Eraden out of his arms. "You will end up killing her. I changed my mind son, you aren't allowed to see her, speak to her or even go within a league from her. You will never see her again!" He started walking away.
Eraden screamed.

Eraden screamed.

The old wolf turned and then....laughed. "Well son, for someone so confused, you sure moved quick." He placed a very confused Eraden on the ground and walked over to his nephew. He pulled up his sleeve and presented his arm to him, "Feed, before I smack you."
Eraden watched this all with a very confused face. She sat in the lovely grass and merely looked back and forth between the two. It was.......a test?

The old wolf sighed and rolled up his sleeve. "Well, this is all very taboo." He watched, perhaps he had gone a little too far?
Eraden saw Hayden's reaction. She got up and rushed over to him. She had used her speed so she knocked into him and they both swayed. But they stayed on their feet. She hugged him tightly too her and sent him, Calm down Hayden, your uncle is being silly, he won't take me away..... I won't let him, now please, relax She swayed on her feet a little bit.
