A Feast For Crows by George R.R. Martin
Yes Kate, they are very long. It will take me years to finish this series...lol.Scott, do u know who the boy is at the armorer? I'm a little unclear.
Ahh ok. Thank you...so the plot thickens! I loved the part where the Queen accuses Tyrion. Man, did I want to see his face!
I'm only 45% and I'm impressed at the turn of ned's circumstances. He seems the only honorable man in all this....mess, so to speak.
I'm at 60%, and I'm amazed that Ned is so bad at "the game of thrones". I feel like he's a few pages away from total disaster! I hope his daughters stay safe.
Ok, I'm at 80% . Man, the Lannisters are really a kniving bunch! Even though this is a long book, I have a feeling that things won't wrap up in the end thus the popular 2nd book in the series.
Finished it on the bus this morning. Really a lot of twists in the last 10% of the book. Makes me really want to read the next book in the series, but I'm not going to rush out and read it either. The Danyrs story got really strange. I'm curious to see what becomes of the various Stark's.
A hand eh? Gods, George knows how to keep my interest but I'm sooo tired. I wish I had all the time in the world to finish this, but the sandman calls.
Just finished the part with sansa and the heads. Man, I wish she would have pushed joff off the tower! Should finish tonight. Are u gonna read the second one?
I wish she would have too. I will probably start the 2nd one in April. My son just finished the 3rd and is really encouraging me to keep with the series. This one kind of leaves you hanging at the end so you want to read the next one.
Cool. Im getting the second one and plan to start soon. Do u want me to change the name of the thread and keep it going?
That would be great. (I'm avoiding social media for Lent, but I'll go ahead and get the next one and start reading. I just won't be commenting much until Easter.)
Ok. Finished the book. Woohoo! Man, that was a monster! I was sad to see some characters go, but was definitely surprised about Dany's story. She seems to be the one who will have alot of power. Can't wait to read about Tyrion who is to reign Kingslanding. Hope he really gives it to joffrey...lol.
I'll join you guys for book 2, Clash of Kings, if that's what you're starting. I read the first book last year and it was fantastic. When are you starting?
Is Bull Robert's bastard son? They're trying to kill him aren't they? Those Lannisters will stop at nothing.
Yes, I'm at the part where they're leaving the city. I remember he had the horned helmet when Eddard visited him.
Looks like I left this one off at a whopping 30% last year, so I'll start tomorrow or the next day. Looking forward to getting back into this universe :)
Cool, I'm going to sidetrack and finish Nightcrawlers to add to that discussion and get back to this.I hear there are lots of battles in this book
HBO actually follows the first book really well. It's the one show that is as good as the books! They don't focus as much on the characters as the book but they both have strengths.

I'm reading the 3rd one this year. They've been great reads but very long.
