This is an interesting one. On the frontispiece of the first known edition of "The Praise of Folly", the author's name is listed as Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, indicating that he was from Rotterdam, not as an actual surname. However, Erasmus (the name that he's most known by) is not a surname either, more like a nickname really. The good man doesn't have an official surname, same as many of his contemporaries.
Still, I would suggest to change the Goodreads author name to Desiderius Erasmus, so that when people sort by author name, his books show up under "E", which is where you'd expect them.

Any other thoughts?
