E M M A Take a computer class, or finish up homework!

message 2: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis sighed as he pushed open the door to the computer lab. He had to start working on a paper for his English class and he didn't know what the hell he was doing. English had never been his best subject and he was going to fail this new essay they had been given. His father was going to be so angry when that happened and there was nothing Travis could do about it.

message 3: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) After her jog here she had manged to make it back alive, though she looked like hell. She burst into the computer lab, unaware of Travis already there. She dropped her thing's to the floor, goodness she was a mess. "God dammit!" She exclaimed, dropping to her knee's to pick it up. Now she felt like crying and she couldn't breath and to add to it all she probably just embarrassed herself in front of Travis!

message 4: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis jumped at the sound of banging and an angry shout. He turned and was surprised to see that it was Bridget kneeling there trying to pick up the things that she had dropped. He stood and made his way over to her and knelt down. "Why is it every time we meet I have to pick up some item of yours?" He teased handing her her things. It had been awhile since he talked to Bridget and he had been wondering how she was.

message 5: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget was picking up thing's when she heard another voice and looked up to meet Travis' eye's. "T-Travis!" She exclaimed feeling her cheek's go pink. "Oh... I-I-I'm so sorry.... I'm... I was in a hurry and... I'm such a mess." She got to her feet when all her thing's were picked up and took the thing's Travis held out to her. "Thank you." She breathed out. "I wasn't aware anyone else was in here... I'm sorry if I interrupted something..." She said looking around expecting someone else to be in here with him.

message 6: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis chuckled. "I see nothing has changed. You're still apologizing for the smallest things." He smiled fondly at her and made his way back to the computer he had been sitting at. "You didn't really interrupt anything yet. I have a paper I need to write and I completely suck at English. I've been sitting here trying to figure out what to do." He sighed.

message 7: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget looked down at her feet tempted to apologize again but stopped herself. She set her thing's in a chair and sat next to Travis. "Maybe I can help." She offered leaning close to him to look at what he was working on. "What do you need to write your paper on?" She asked. Considering they had English together and she was a tutor this would be pretty easy. Even a chance to get to know Travis was an opportunity which was a really good thing.

message 8: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis glanced over at Bridget in surprise. "You would help me?" He asked before shaking his head. Of course she would. That was just how she was. She always helped others. Travis sighed and ran a hand through his hair roughly. "I don't know what to pick for my topic. I think that's my main problem." He said frustrated. The teacher hadn't been that specific and he always had the most trouble with those essays.

message 9: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget smiled looking up at him. "Well I could just walk out and let you do it by your self." She told him even though she knew she would never do that because she wasn't like that. Unless, of course, Travis found her annoying which could be quiet possible. "Well, our teacher does suck. I have some History paper that I have to write that I've been putting off... That's why I was at the library." She muttered looking back at the computer screen. "Not that you care about my History project... Sorry, I tend to ramble a lot..." She muttered.

message 10: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis placed a hand on her arm. "Please don't leave. Even if I didn't have this stupid project I've been wanting to talk to you. I feel like it's been too long." He admitted opening his notebook before logging onto the student server of the computer. "No sorry. Never say sorry." He said turning to her again. Why did she always apologize? It was like she was apologizing for existing.

message 11: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget looked up feeling his hand on her arm and feeling her heart speed up. Calm down Bridget! Her mind screamed. She smiled, trying to appear calm and not fazed. "Talk to me... About what?" Did he not want to go to homecoming with her anymore? Oh god... Was this some sort of... Date breakup. He had found someone better. She had meant nothing. They weren't friends and Bridget was crazy to believe they were. Captain of the football team and the lowest it got in the high school food chain.

message 12: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis shrugged. "Anything. I mean we are going to homecoming together after all. Plus you're my friend right? Shouldn't friends be able to have casual conversations?" He asked confused. She seemed nervous about something but he didn't know what she had to be nervous about. "Why? What did you think I meant?" He asked.

message 13: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget let out a sigh of relief. Good, he was thinking juts as she was. "Oh thank god." She muttered straightening up. "I..." She trailed off. Looking away from him. "There's lot's of girls in our school Travis... I know I'm not the best..." She muttered. "I... Thought maybe you had found someone else to go with." She admitted not able to look up at him. "It wouldn't be that surprising and if you did... I wouldn't stop you from going with her... I'm just a nobody here." She said.

message 14: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis turned to her more fully and stared at her surprised. "I know I'm supposed to be the stereotypical most popular guy in school but I'm trying not to be that way. I don't want to be known as that guy and I keep my word." He said. He turned his head to look at his computer screen. "I'm not my father." He said under his breath. Even though he felt like everyday he became more and more like him, Travis fought it as hard as he could.

message 15: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget looked at him, processing his words and biting her lower lip. "Okay." She told him. "... Okay.. So... What do you want to talk about if it's not your English paper?" She asked him turning in her chair so she was facing him fully to look at him better. She was begging to like Travis... Maybe just as a friend because that's all she'd ever allow herself because she knew... He'd find someone better. There's tons of girl better than her. She couldn't want him any more then as a friend no matter how much her mind was telling her to.

message 16: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis propped his elbow on the table and rested his cheek in his hand, staring at her. "Well for starters we could talk about homecoming." He said with a grin. "Have you found a dress yet? I need to rent my tux and everything so I need to know what color you're wearing." He didn't think that Bridget was the type to care if they matched but he knew that everyone would look at them strange if they weren't. Or stranger than they would already look at them.

message 17: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget nodded. "I'm wearing blue... But please don't show up in a blue tux." She said jokingly smiling at him. "We... We won..." She muttered letting out a breath feeling her cheek's turn pink, thinking about how the had won homecoming king and queen. They would announce it and they would have to go up on stage. It would be awful, her heart raced just thinking about it. She knew that they only won because she was going to Travis and he was football captain, it was just typical high school.

message 18: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis pouted in mock disappointment. "But that was my plan! How cool would it be to be the only one wearing a powder blue tux?" He asked. "Perfection." He said before she could answer. He laughed and shook his head. "Just kidding. I'll just wear a blue tie. Dark blue or light blue?" He asked. His grin widened when she mentioned winning homecoming king and queen. "Well you should have known that going with me would pretty much guarantee that."

message 19: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget smiled and shook her head. "Hmm, my brother wore a blue tux to his prom his senior year because he lost a bet." She said giggling at the thought or Travis in a blue tux. "Light blue." She answered. "Like... A teal blue." She said, nodding. "Yeah, I guess you're right. It wasn't that surprising when I heard the announcement... I just..." She shrugged. "Nervous." She admitted smiled slightly. "I haven't even been to a school dance since the begging of my freshmen year. And... It was an awful experiences.

message 20: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis laughed. "That would have been a sight to see." He said ginning. He nodded. "I think I already have a tie that color as a matter of fact. Makes everything that much easier." His father made him go to so many formal events that he had suits and ties for days. He reached over and squeezed her hand. "Don't be. I'll be there the entire time." He thought about what it would be like to be a freshman and not be at the top. He would probably ended up like Bridget or Juliet too.

message 21: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget smiled. Oh, it was a sight to see. She probably still had pictures on her phone of him. When Travis touched her she felt her heart beat pick up and she tired to calm herself. It was nothing... Nothing it meant nothing. She looked up at him. God, he was adorable. She smiled at him and nodded. "Right..." She said then her face fell again. "Travis.. What if no one likes me...?" She asked. She always found new way's to make herself nervous.

message 22: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis furrowed his brow. She really had self esteem problems. "Why wouldn't anyone like you? I like you so that's a basis for everyone else. And who cares if they don't you're there with me and they can't say shit about it." His muscles tensed at the thought of anyone messing with her because of him. What the hell? He had never felt this protective of anyone before. He mentally shook his head. It was just because he was trying to make a difference nothing more.

message 23: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget shivered, imagining everyone staring at her and Travis. "I'm... I... I don't know." She whispered. "I.. Just..." She shook herself, she had to stop. Going to Homecoming would be a good thing, she had to keep telling herself that. She had to believe that everything was going to be okay. She looked at Travis. "Thank you." She muttered. "For... Everything. I'm not use to.... This." She shrugged and laughed at herself. "I went to the last dance alone... I... I'm not use to this." She repeated.

message 24: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis scooted his chair closer and lifted her chin so she was looking directly at him. "It won't be like the last dance. I promise. I'll be by your side the whole time so no one will even be able to talk to you without me right there." He said and then he realized how close they were. He cleared his throat awkwardly and moved back a few inches. He turned so he was facing his computer again and mentally berated himself. What is wrong with you? He scolded. She was only supposed to be a friend..

message 25: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget held her breath his touch and their closeness driving her mad. But she wanted it... She wanted to actually be closer to him. But then he moved away and she reminded herself that he didn't like her like that. They were going to homecoming as friends. She cleared her throat as well. "So..." She muttered, willing to change the subject now. "... How about that English paper?" She said, smiling and trying to clear her thoughts of how much she wanted to be back where they were just a few seconds ago.

message 26: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis found himself wishing they could be closer again and he was anxiously waiting for homecoming so he's have an excuse to hold her closer. What was wrong with him? He had promised himself no relationships. They had to remain friends. Why was that so hard? He shook his head to clear it and looked over at her. "Um.. Yeah." He said clearing his throat. "Where do you suggest that I start?"

message 27: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget watched him carefully, trying to figure him out. What was going on in his head? When he looked back over to her she looked away quickly and pretended to be busy with her hand, straightening thing's on the desk and stacking papers that were a mess form when she dropped her stuff earlier. She looked back at him when she felt it was appropriate again and smiled. "Well, for starters... We could find out what you want to write about." She told him looking at the computer screen.

message 28: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis thought for a moment. He needed to write about something he either knew or was passionate about. His interactions with Bridget and Juliet got him thinking. Maybe if he wrote about the human dynamic to form cliques he could figure out a better way to change things. "Human dynamic or mentality about cliques?" He asked looking over at her again. He found himself getting lost in her eyes and he had to scold himself over and over for him to focus.

message 29: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget waited wondering if he was regretting her coming in or asking her. Maybe he was hoping she would leave. She started to draw random doodles on her paper until he answered and smiled. "It's up to you... Which one do you think you know more about... One your more... Passionate about or something." She told him. "I wrote mine about using animals for testing bathroom products... Nothing super deep." She told him, smiling. Looking at him she wanted to lean in to press her lip's to his but looked away to stop herself. Then he definitely wouldn't want to go. She'd never even kissed someone before.

message 30: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis shrugged. Either way he would be getting his point across. "Mentality I guess." He wanted to write about why they formed cliques. Was it to feel like they were accepted? But who should be the judge of who's accepted or not? "Animal testing? Are you one of those radicals who go out and protest?" He teased. He swung his chair back and forth, folding his arms behind his head. He could see her protesting something like that. She had one of the biggest hearts.

message 31: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget laughed but shook her head. "No... I don't do that." She said smiling. "I couldn't come up with something. Lucky for you, you have me to help. I didn't have help." She told him. She looked back at him. "Do you go to protest like that?" She asked him mockingly. She actually wouldn't mind doing something like that... It was for a good cause. But she had seen the movies about things that happen to people in those types of things. They could get in trouble with the cop's or something. Bridget couldn't risk that. She shivered at the thought and pushed the thoughts aside.

message 32: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis looked over and smiled at her. "Yeah lucky me." He said. He pulled up microsoft word so he could have a clean document to work with. Travis turned to her with a raised eyebrow. "Do I give off that protester vibe?" He asked a smirk playing around his lips. He shook his head. "No I don't protest." He said. There were too many risks that it would end up in the paper and his father would be none to happy about that.

message 33: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget smiled. "You know... After school I tutor people... If you ever need help with anything like this, I'm always there." She told him. "Now, write your paper!" She teased pointing at the computer screen. "How long do we have to work on this again...?" She asked trying to recall what their English teacher said. She had the date in her phone but her phone was not with her, it was at home where she had forgotten it in her bathroom. She barley made it this morning because her whole schedule was off.

message 34: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) "At the library right?" He asked remembering their first conversation. He wouldn't mind the extra help but it also gave him an excuse to spend more time with her before the dance. He held up his hands defensively a grin stretched across his face. "Fine fine! I'm writing." He placed his fingers on the keyboard for a second before removing them again. He needed to put his ideas together first. "I think she gave us a week. Maybe two." He said. To be honest he never really paid attention in class so he mostly forgot what had happened.

message 35: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget nodded. "Sometimes... But we also have a tutor lab near the gym." She told him. "But... Yeah, mostly at the Library." She shrugged and smiled at him. If he came down to the tutor lab then she didn't actually have to tutor him about school work. She could tutor him about herself. They could get to know each other better. "Okay, then you have a little time. And... You could mostly likely find me at the library. Or... You could call me." She said, she's been trying to find a way to ask for his number and figured this was a pretty lame way.

message 36: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) "I didn't know that." He said. He should have known that the school had their own tutoring program and Bridget would be apart of it. She was just that good of a person. "Call you? I don't have your number..." He trailed off, mentally kicking himself. Why hadn't he asked for her number before? They could have avoided the whole awkwardness of when they first ran into each other. "Can I have it?" He asked.

message 37: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) "Of course!" She smiled. Bridget pulled out a piece of paper, ripping a small part off of it and scribbling her number on it. "Feel free to call me anytime." She told him, smiling and handing him the paper. Now that that was over. She struggled to find something else to say, a new subject to talk about. Why did she have to be so awkward? It was a simple task, find something to talk about! "Why don't you have a girlfriend?" Bridget blurted out. "I mean... You're... You and you're... Adorable... You're so nice... I just don't see why you don't have a girlfriend." She said, the pink color creeping on her cheek realizing what she had just said.

message 38: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis smiled and took the paper she handed him. He looked at her elegant scrawl before folding it carefully and tucking it into his pocket. They sat silently for a moment before her blurted question surprised him. His mouth dropped open slightly but he quickly recovered and his natural smirk spread across his lips. "Did you just call me adorable?" He asked. "Normally I would think of little kids as being adorable. Not me." He mused leaning back in his chair. "But I don't have a girlfriend because I just didn't want one."

message 39: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget's face warmed up as he pointed it out and she covered her face with her hands attempting to hide her rosy cheek's. She looked back up at him biting her lip. "Well... I mean... Y-You're cute... I mean... No... I just..." She let out a shaky breath and turned in her chair shaking slightly from embarrassment. "I'm very good at embarrassing myself." She muttered. Something twisted in her stomach when he said he didn't want a girlfriend. Disappointment. "Y-You don't... Want One?" She asked him.

message 40: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis smiled even more when she called him cute. He was about to say something when she turned away and the smile fell off his face. He turned her chair so she was facing him and ducked his head so he could meet her eyes. "Please don't be embarrassed." He whispered. He was actually kind of relieved that she thought that about him. "I said I didn't not that I don't." He said clarifying.

message 41: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget smiled up at Travis even though her stomach or her heart didn't calm down. His closeness driving her insane again. She thought about closing the space between them... Just to do it... Just to kiss him and get it over with but she couldn't... She didn't even know if she knew how to kiss. "Okay." She breathed out finally. "... Sorry." She muttered again realizing she had apologized, yet again for something so small. She didn't want him too hate her or walk way from her... She wanted the exact opposite. But she had to push that thought aside. Friends

message 42: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis let his head fall forward with a groan. "Stop apologizing." He whispered. She didn't get it. When he said he didn't want a girlfriend he was meaning before he met her, but he supposed it was better this way. He really shouldn't be getting involved anyways. His hands were resting on both sides of her chair and he could feel the heat coming off of her. If he just...No. He stopped the thought in its tracks.

message 43: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget bit her lip and closed her eye's. "Right." She muttered. "Got it." She opened her eye's again she realized how close he was and she wanted to resist it's just... He really was adorable. And... No! Nothing! They barley knew each other. And what if he wasn't even into her? Then it be super embarrassing and she couldn't be able to live with herself! But he was just... Right here... No! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it Bridget, right now! He's not interested! Who would ever be int6eresed in you? Silly girl.

message 44: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis lifted his head and he finally registered how close they were. He could feel her breath on his face and he got sucked into her eyes. He started leaning forward before he even registered it. What are you doing?! His mind screamed at him. He didn't know but right then he didn't care. He just felt the need to be closer to her.

message 45: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget's heart was now beating out of control. Maybe he was thinking the same thing. Finally, Bridget pressed closer to him and pressed her lip's to his. She had no idea what she was doing or what she was thinking. Obviously, she was not thinking. She was just feeling. And she wanted to be closer, now they were closer than ever! She was kissing someone! She... She was kissing Travis... She was kissing her school's football captain! She... She was kissing someone.

message 46: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis was a little surprised when she leaned forward and kissed him. He hadn't thought that she felt that way. He quickly got over his surprise and pulled her chair closer so they didn't have to lean forward so much. Travis had kissed girls before. He had kissed a lot of girls. But nothing was like this. It was strange how his chance meeting with her had resulted into this.

message 47: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) When Travis didn't pull away Bridget felt giddy and bubbly. Happy and excited. She never realized how hard this would bee, sitting in rolling chairs and kissing someone. She didn't know what else to do now. She had let her hand's roam up his shoulders and around his neck before pulling away and looking at him. "I-I..." She stuttered, not sure what to say or what to do. "I've never done that before." She whispered at loss of what to say but embarrassed to admit she'd never kissed someone before. She was a senior in high school for goodness sakes!

message 48: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis rested his hands on her waist, wanting her closer but not wanting to scare her away. When she pulled back he kept his eyes closed for a moment, intent on regulating his breathing. "You've never done what before?" He asked before he realized what she was getting at. He opened his eyes and looked into hers. "That was you're first kiss?" He asked incredulously.

message 49: by Alyssa (new)

Alyssa (Naturallyblond) Bridget blushed and nodded. "Yeah..." She said hesitantly. She was surprised she was the one to actually kiss the person, she always thought it would either be the other way around or she'd never have her first kiss, which she guess was insane. "Pretty pathetic, huh?" She dropped her hand's back at her side and she was convinced the blush on her face was never going to go away. She'd have to walk around the rest of her life with her forever to be pink cheeks.

message 50: by Tia (new)

Tia Jenkins (tia_jenkins) Travis reached down and took her hand in her's. "No it isn't pathetic Bridget." He said truthfully. He was a little surprised that she had chose him to be her first kiss with his past and everything. "You know for that being your first kiss and all it was pretty amazing." He smiled warmly at her and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear.
