I have a ton of "to read" books in my list but I'm hoping some you of more experienced in the genre can point out some great new reads for me :)

Excellent name, Mr T :D

If you have not already, join our Facebook group Bizarro fiction. We're a lovely but strange lot :)
Anyone is welcome.

I don't actually know that I'm prepared to define Bizarro fiction, and I'm not, I have no clue... But I see it around... I don't know that I've ever read any... I may have written some though...

I'm a big fan of Steve Ayelett.
Um.
Yeah.

I should have done this a while ago...so here goes.
Before I knew that Bizarro existed, I created my own genre called Acidpunk.
Naturally, I was happy to find that there are like minded freaks out there writing degenerate and very strange prose.
All my Bizarro friends can download a free eBook of my latest published novel HERE
I guarantee this will be one of the best Bizarro books you will read all year!

thank you

I make music under the name Flood Damage. I like cats and food. I'm really nice. I try not to set fires. Hello.
Hey Michael I'm familiar with your work but have not read it. thanks for joining we are planning upcoming events such as group reads, questions for authors, etc. Also once everything is flying around we are planning a internet party right here in this group. Hi and welcome

We need some activity. A few page ideas are on the horizon so be on the look out. And don't forget your sunglasses

Howdy, all!
I've been working with Donald on reading/reviewing Bizarro fiction since early in 2012. I don't read as much of it as I'd like (or should), but in the last year I've had the pleasure of reviewing Dungeons & Drag Queens, Time Pimp, and You Are Sloth!, while Donald has guest reviewed several others.
I literally just got a copy of A Lightbulbs Lament for review (thanks, Grant), but I'm always open to new titles.

Well, I guess I should have introduced myself much sooner. I'm Teresa, and am a tried and true Bizarro junkie. Donald and I have been reading together for a while, and decided to take the reigns of this group and really get it going. SOOOO...tell us what you would like to see more of, less of, etc. I'm playing with the idea of making a few polls with different ideas that people may or may not enjoy. Hope you all like my face, cause you'll be seeing a lot of it!

Duncan is an indie author, a horror aficionado, and a possible ax murderer who enjoys writing about himself in the third person!
I've written a book of badass horror short stories, novelettes and novellas, many of which are quite bizarre, GRISTLE & BONE: http://amzn.com/e/B00F23Y41Q
I also feel good when I find other talented authors whose stuff I can share.

Thing was I guess I was always writing Bizarro I just never had a name for it.
I don't want to just plug the books I've written. I want to find out advice about what you guys enjoy in the genre. What you expect out of other readers, and how I can fulfill those desires.
The end of this year I've planned to push hard with releases and release a lot of stuff next year. My goal is to get something published with an Erasherhead Press label on it.
My first book was gunslinging Judge Judy of the post apocalyptic wasteland fighting Juggalos, Furries, and other bizarre celebrities. I did a short story where the Venom symbiote took over Thomas the train, and another short about a company that lets people kill celebrities... for a price. Publisher asked me to write something will less celebrities in it.
My next book is a noir occult detective story about a street drug that turns people into neonazis called Liquid Hitler.
But none of that matters.
What matters is reaching out and finding people who like Bizarro. You guys can help me be better at what I do.
Thank you.

I am glad to see a couple of familiar faces from one of my other groups here also.

WAVES BACK!!! ;-) Nice to see this thread picking up! Tom is being a bona fide gentleman, welcoming everyone! Thanks, Tom (and all the rest of you guys keeping this thread going). I don't find myself on this thread very often because of being on my phone...I have to scroll through 300+ comments to get to the 'newbies,' so for any newcomers, WELCOME!!! If you have and questions about anything, PM me or one of the other mods and we'll do our best to answer your questions. I, personally, don't mind you all putting links to your books here, because let's face it- your book IS part of who you are. Just don't spam us to death once you've already 'introduced' yourself, please (I don't see anyone doing this, so I'm not singling anyone out here). If you've introduced yourself here a few months back and have a new book coming out, head over to the 'Author Promotion Area (and ish)' and let us know there. Self-pimping IS absolutely encouraged within reason. We DO wanna know about your book, just maybe not 100 times in a week. Okay, that went off into a tangent. Sorry bout that.
Also, if you're new, head on over to the 'Buddy Reads' & 'Group Reads' folders and see if we may happen to be reading something you've got and would like to read with us. Us Bizarros are very welcoming, so don't hesitate to jump in on a buddy read or whatever! We won't bite, promise!!!
Finally, there are some giveaways going on...those would be in the *ahem* 'GIVEAWAYS' folder (DUH), so maybe you can win something while you're here!
WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME, EVERYONE!!!

HOLY SHIT, FRANK!!! You're a hero! I had no clue about that! Do you know how to reply to a post using the app? Or how to add books/authors? Thanks so much!!!

I am so happy to have a reason to spend time on Goodreads. I haven't been the biggest lover of it. But this changes everything!

*Waves Back
I haven't been very active on GR for a while because I've been working crazy hours. I've been trying to change that now that this group has some new blood pumping through it. I've been actively trying to get FaceBook traffic over here to GoodReads with giveaways and stuff.
For anybody who doesn't know who I am, my real name is Etienne and I am the owner/operator of Rooster Republic Press and StrangeHouse Books. I work a lot but I try to stay up to date with my messages. Feel free to drop me a line sometime. :)

I'm reading Jackpot now, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it! Keep up the good work! <3
