Swords and Deviltry by Fritz Leiber(okay)
Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson
(really enjoyed)
The most recent book I finished reading was Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. It’s humorous take on the coming of the biblical Armageddon. I borrowed a copy of it from the library. It sat on my too be read list for years. I wanted to read it and watch the TV show. The novel was adapted into the first season of the Amazon show named Good Omens. A second season was released covering events after the novel and a proposed TV movie will complete the series.
Shiloh by Shelby Foote 3 stars More of a companion piece to other U.S. Civil War stories or descriptions as opposed to an entire stand alone novel.
My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite 4 stars
Solaris by Stanisław Lem 3 starsPart sci-fi, part existential refection on loss and grief, plus a little bit of horror.
The Fight by Norman Mailer 4 stars
Norman Mailer's account of the Muhammad Ali - George Foreman fight in Zaire, including the weeks leading up to the fight. Maybe one drinking story too many, but the account of the fight itself was top notch.
