Clare RXYLND Many people disregard Anne Frank as a immature and stupid heroine. I look up to Anne Frank; She's my hero. While reading her diary, I discovered that Anne's thoughts and personality were very similar to my own. She's also like many of my friends and family. This leads me to state that people who disregard her are idiots, and can't see the truth about Anne. That she's so humane, so imperfect, that there's a little bit of Anne in all of us! Anne isn't like just one person, she is similar to all human beings. Because she listens. She empathetic, and kind, and thoughtful. She's also very immature at some times in her book, but I look up to her because she's more human than anyone I know. May God bless Anne in "Paradise."

Erlyn Right now my class and I are learning about the Holocaust and as I slowly learn about what Hitler has done with the people who he doesn't think as "pure", well it makes me understand on what Anne Frank had to go through, not that I'm a living candidate but because I've had a traumatic experience in my childhood.

Zoe Well, I can't imagine anyone talking about Anne Frank without at least a modicum of respect. She lived through unimaginable horrors whilst trying her best to pass smoothly from childhood to adulthood. We have all been through puberty so we can fully identify with her growing pains - and this makes the terrible backdrop to her adolescence all the more poignant.

What a beautiful tribute to Anne. I wholeheartedly agree. :)

Erlyn I agree. I just think that people who don't fully understand the pain and suffering that she had to go through. Even if they do understand but they try to hide from seeing the truth. That's what happens now a days. We hide from the truth because it's painful and to face.

Demigodpriya1998 What people fail to understand is the pain the girl had to go through. She underwent a difficult transition. A difficult phase. (And what's more heart-wrenching is her belief that it will pass.)She was undeniably strong and at a young age of 14, had achieved an impeccable sense of maturity. Isn't it ironical that such a girl is dismissed as immature and baseless? She had discovered herself while living in the annex and had risen above the limits of the realm within which she was confined. Such a person needs to be lauded not critisized.

Maya Martin And Anne was such a great writer. It seems like she was very committed to putting a lot of effort into her diary and writing it all out helped her grow into a mature young woman who thought things through and developed her own opinions. Although we might not go through such horrible conditions as the Holocaust as we experience this change, there is some struggle in all of our lives that we must overcome. Anne Frank may have been killed at the young age of 14 after years in hiding, but her powerful words stretch across all times and cultures.

I agree, Anne is not disregarded in the world of literature, but like she said in her diary, her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussell were constantly making fun of her.

Josie I've read the diary four times. Everytime i read the diary i could find a new way to relate to it. from feeling isolated, to having a crush, and never giving up on your dreams. It's not only a historical document, it's a book anyone can relate to, especially teens.
