removing book I did not write

I am new to Goodreads. A book I did not write is listed on my page because someone else has the same name as me. How do I get that book removed? It is called "Because God is Awesome." That is not my book. Thanks!

I have not got the hang of Goodreads, Lori - but I thought those books listed on the right are books one has chosen as ... er um ... good reads. Not your own books.

Hi Lori,

I've removed "Because God is Awesome" from your list of books--as you suspected it was the Illustrator with the same name as you that was causing the trouble. This happens from time to time, but is very easy to fix, so please don't hesitate to let us know or post in the Librarians Group if it comes up again.

Any librarian can handle that for you. Just post your book data issues over in the librarians group and they'll fix it.

The original poster on this site issues help desk just lucked into a librarian wandering by and instead of just directing to librarians group went ahead and fixed. Normally doesn't happen.

Guess Paula is also a librarian who wondered by ... so Robert lucked out also.

Of course, average time for a librarian to fix a book issues is much, much, much faster when the librarian request is actually posted on the librarian threads.

Possible but unusual for staff to do librarian edits as well (obviously).

It would be a better idea to request this at the official Librarians' group, where it is more likely to be seen.

In this case I suggest contacting GR Support and ask that they disambiguate you to another author profile.

You have the default author profile for that name and any books imported by the imports by authors with the same name will appear.

If you are changed to a new profile that will not happen but you will have to either remember to add your books as soon as you have an ISBN or ASIN or request your books are moved from the default
