Okay, everyone. We're getting closer to R14, which will be in early 2017. Yay! (Exact start date : TBD)

I've requested assistance from a GR employee to find a quicker, easier way to notify specific group members only. Our group has grown past the point where event invites can be sent to select members only. And, sending 100+ PMs is time consuming what with all of GR's "prove your a human" image selectors and "to avoid spam, only 25 messages allowed in one day" issues.

His work-around suggestion, while we brainstorm other options, was to create a separate group strictly for alerts. I've chosen to create one because it'll allow me to send a broadcast message to all members knowing everyone is interested and will welcome the notification.

So, without further ado, I hereby invite everyone who has asked for a BSB new round alert to join our new BSB alert group. I've set it as a private group where new members must be approved by the group moderator as a way to make sure members in that group are already a member of this group and want to receive BSB alerts.

For now, that group will be used strictly for messaging players about upcoming rounds of BSB. All game play will continue to take place here @ SOS.

How often do BSBs run? I think you said the current one started in Jan, but when does it end, and does a new one start that same month? Thanks!

Linda, being Bingo, it lasts until a team wins. This round of Bingo requires 11 shelves minimum to win (we're doing the airplane pattern), so at least that long, and I'm guessing at a few weeks longer than that.

As to when the next one starts, we don't have a set time frame. I see you've joined the SOS Bingo Alerts Group, which is set up to do a broadcast when a new game is ready to play. All you can do is keep your eyes peeled after the current game is finished :)

Thanks for your interest in BSB, Linda! The Alert Group is the best way to find out when our next round is gonna start. We don't have a set schedule. We tend to host a couple a year, but the start times vary.

Did you mean to set the alert group to be "adult only"? (Moot point for myself but I ddn't think this group was adult only so it seemed odd the alert group would be.)

Hi Debbie *waves* The group is set to private so that only SOS members can join, but I didn't see anywhere where you had to be adult. Where abouts did you see that?

It says "adults only" in the group info, but I'm guessing it's a side effect - of sorts - of the private group setting. As Sandra mentioned, that setting was chosen so that those wishing to join would need to be approved. This is to ensure that all members of that group are first/also a member of SOS where the game is played.

Please join our new BSB alert group and you will be guaranteed a message when the sign-up thread for a new round is open. Conversely, if you join the group now, but later wish to stop being bothered, leave the BSB alert group and will no longer receive those notifications.
