Once Upon A Time and Lara

Sam knelt down beside her and added her power to James' to help him finish the job. "I think Calla got back into her body for a short while. Danny you have to keep control of your sister until Calla gets back."
Josh nodded, "Who ever is in your body just tried killing it. Luckily, I think it is still ok. Try to get back in again."

Calla started to fight back. "Josh it's not working. Maybe I should stay here." She collapsed near Josh. "It's no use." She felt herself slipping away.
"Sam I need your help to heal her."

James watched, worried.
"Calla, go back to your body, the other girl is gone. Danny and Sam can heal you." Josh told her.

Danny slowly started to heal her. Everything was healed. "Wake up." He shook Calla.

James was too nervous to even breathe, he just watched, hoping she would wake up.
"No." Josh said firmly. "Go back now. James is waiting for you."

"Wake up. Maybe we should like teleport to Josh to see if she's there?"

Sam nodded, "Might be a good idea, but I don't have enough energy left to do that."
James shook his head, "I don't either. Danny, could you go?"

"I'm not sure." He looked pale. The past events of today made him think. He talked to his sister. "I don't feel that great. " he forgot about the past of events that his sister talked about.

James bent over Calla. "Please come back to me." He begged, "Please Calla, come back."
Josh shook his head, "The longer you spend here, the less you want to go back, now leave... now!"

"Yeah I'm fine." He faked a smile.

"I'm warning you Calla, go back now, or I'll have to shove you in your body and you're not going to like that." Josh said sternly.
"Come on Calla." James asked again.

"Yeah I'm sure." He smiled again. Not liking the questions.

Josh frowned, "I'm sorry Calla, about the headache you're going to have in a minute. It was nice seeing you...." His voice drifted away as a huge wind storm swirled around Calla like she was in the eye of a tornado. It sucked her out of the spirit realm and back into her own body.
James shook Calla again, "Come back!" He begged.

Danny felt bad for not telling her. He was glad she didn't bring up the conversation of what her sister said. He didn't want her to know. He barley remember.

Sam didn't look at Danny. She bit her lip. Why won't he talk to me? Does he not trust me? Does he think I will make fun of him, or won't care at all? She swallowed hard and got up slowly. "Um, I'm going to go... for a bit." she left and went to a small room, locking the door after her. Plopping down on a chair she tried to think about why Danny wouldn't talk to her.

Danny nodded his head. He figure she was upset. He knew his sister brought up something that he no knew. He decide to get up and wait by the pool. He was hurt. That Sam just left him. He did deserve it though.

Sam raked a hand through her hair. "What is he not telling me? Why won't he tell me? I thought he trusted me!" She said to no one in particular. "I thought he trusted me..." She said again, quieter this time. A single tear rolled down her cheek.

Danny didn't know what to say. Even if he told her his story and how they treated him. Would she treat him differently? One of the main reasons he hated witches so much was because of those pills they gave him. When was the last time he had them? He didn't really know. They were addicting. It made him forget. He was suppose to forget something. Yet he still couldn't remember. He just started. He felt his hear break a little.

Sam looked up at the ceiling through tear-filled eyes. I want to talk to him about it. I want to work it through with him. But if he doesn't want to talk.... then maybe he just wants to be alone. She wiped the tears away. I want him to be happy, so if he wants to be alone, I'll leave him alone. She decided. Getting up slowly, she quietly unlocked the door and slipped outside. Flying silently through the hallways and out into the open, she flew through the air and away from the castle.

Danny got up to tell her. He decide that she deserved to know. He came in to find that she was gone. He couldn't sense her in the castle. His heart broke even more. Did she leave him? Why would she leave? He promise her he wouldn't freak out. Either though he was on the urge to. He started to shake very badly. He got up whimpering down the hallway until he went to the training room. It was far away from everybody. He was alone now. He didnt want to be alone now. The one person he wanted to be with left him.

Sam flew away as fast as she could. She couldn't see where she was going because tears were blurring her vision. All I wanted was to talk to him about it. I just want to be with him, but I guess he didn't want that. She flew down to the ground, deciding it was safer to walk when you can't see anything. She squeezed her eyes shut to drain the tears. When she opened them, she wiped them with the back of her hand. That was when she saw it... but it was too late. She had landed on a highway. Sam was frozen in shock when the speeding truck hit her.

Danny felt this deep pain in him. It hurt Sam. She was hurt. He couldn't do anything about. He was stupid for not talking to her. She was probably dying because of him. He instantly curled up in a ball. Tears came down his face.

Sam's eyes opened a slit. She was lying on an asphalt highway. The world was spinning around her, and it made her dizzy. Everything hurt. Everything hurt so bad. She tried to get up, but she couldn't move at all. Her vision was blurry, she didn't know what was going on. Then she heard sirens in the distance. She saw red white and blue lights as cars drove up around her. Then she saw people, she heard voices. Her eyes slowly shut and her world went dark.

Danny cried. Something was wrong. Sam wasn't coming back. Was she hurt? Was she ok?

Doctors wheeled Sam into the hospital on a stretcher. She was scraped up badly and had multiple shattered bones. They dashed into the surgeon's room to try and remove the broken rib from her lung before it was too late.
Sam woke up briefly. Her vision was blurry still, and all she could see was green people and a bright light. Then a mask came down and was strapped over her mouth and nose. In a couple of seconds the gas knocked her out again.

Danny got up to go see Calla and James for the where a outs of Sam. "Guys have you seen Sam?" His eyes were puffy and red.
"James where is the nearest highway. From there were is the nearest hospital?"
"What's wrong?"
"Sam was in a hit and run accident."
Danny froze. "Here take my hand." She grabbed James and Danny teleported them to the nearest hospital. "Danny what's you last name?"
"Jones."
"Hi my sister was in a hit and run accident and this my brother in law Danny Jones. Were wondering if you have we could speak to her doctors?"

The secretary looked up slowly, "What is the patient's name?" She asked tiredly, looking through her records. She didn't seem to notice that they had teleported into the hospital.
The surgeons bent over Sam's body, talking through their masks to each other as they worked on her.

"We all are." Danny muttered.

James squeezed Calla's hand encouragingly and walked over to the seats. He sat down in one of them, looking at the year old magazines on the table, but not really interested in any of them. He was worried about Sam. He knew they would have to wait to see her. He wasn't about to get labeled a criminal for breaking into a hospital. Besides, the doctors knew what they were doing.
"Ok. All done." I surgeon said, his voice muffled by the mask. "I need stitching on that wound, stat."
A nurse walked over with the supplies and got to work.
The doctor straightened and nodded, "Move her to the CA ward and keep and eye on her. The doctors there will know what do do with the rest of her bones." He pulled off his gloves and casually walked back through the hallways and down a couple of stairs to the entrance of the hospital. "Is there any family here for a girl with ginger hair?" He asked.

"I promise I would protect her. I failed."
"You didn't fail." Calla said trying to comfort him.
"Yes I did." He wasn't going to break. "When we get in there should we heal her?"
"No not unless we absolutely have to." Calla didn't want anything to be said about witches.

The secretary nodded at the doctor, "They're out there, waiting. They said her name was Samantha Jones."
The doctor nodded and walked out. "Are you here for a girl named Samantha Jones?" He asked.
James nodded. "Yes we are."

"How is my wife doing?" Danny looked up at the doctor.

"Should?" James asked. "Your saying she may not survive because she can't breathe, but she should be ok?"
The doctor nodded.
James was about to get angry when he remembered that he couldn't use his powers here. He nodded, sinking back down in his chair, "When can we go see her?"
The doctor stayed nonchalant "We will notify you as soon as her condition stabilizes. Until then, make yourselves at home. There are a couple of shops down that hallway if you are hungry." He offered, "I must get back to work." He walked briskly away from them again.

"Well if she goes stops breathing I will go back there and heal her. Were under that agreement right?" Danny said angrily.

"Danny, we have no way of knowing whether or not she is breathing, and you can't just go back there and check on her to see if she is. I'm sorry, but you're going to have to stay here and trust the doctors to take care of her." James said gently. He hated the situation as much as Danny did, but there wasn't anything he could do about it. "Like the doctor said, Sam is a strong girl. If she has the will to live, she will live."

"If she does and you do know. I give you my permission. James is the one your going to have to convince." She said with a smile. She was bored. Some she started running her hand across his chest.

He turned to Danny, he felt bad for him. "You can heal her, but only if you get the doctors to release her and we are out of here first. Danny, I know Sam is important, but this is really important too. You have to trust me on this. If she stops breathing, you should have enough time to get back to the castle to heal her." He promised him.
Sam woke up slowly as the gas wore off. She felt awful. As her vision cleared, the pain attacked her in sharp stabs. She cried out which only made the pain in her lungs worse. A nurse bent over her and inserted a needle into the back of her hand. It was attached to a tube that was now dripping a clear liquid into her veins. Morphene. She realized as the pain dulled. Her head grey fuzzy as the drug took effect and she passed out again.

"Ok." He looked at them. "Do you guys always have to flirt."
"Shutup Danny."
"No."
"Do you always have to be a stick in the mud without Sam?"
"Yes." He smiled at sat laid back.
Calla put her feet in the chair beside her. She started drawing shapes on his chest.

The doctor looked at the monitor by Sam's bed and wrote something on his clipboard. He nodded to the nurse and she nodded back, walking out briskly to the waiting room.
"Family here for Samantha Jones?" She asked.
James stiffened. "That's us."
"You can visit her now, but one at a time." She announced, waiting for one of them to follow her back to see Sam.

"Is she ok?" Danny asked getting up. He needed to see her. He needed her to be ok. Danny waited for a response. He told himself to calm down. "Lead the way."

The nurse nodded, she started walking through the white hallways and up a flight of steps. She lead him into a ward and stopped at a door. Sam was lying on the bed inside, slightly propped up. She was still out because of the morphene drip in her arm, but the scratches across her face weren't bleeding anymore. The nurse nodded inside. "There she is. I can't allow you to stay too long because she needs to rest." The nurse said before turning to leave, "You have fifteen minutes."

Danny froze at her. He sat at chair. "Hi Princess, I'm so sorry. It's all my fault I should of told you what I was thinking about." He felt helpless. "Princess I don't have much time with you now. I just want you to know I love you so much. I even kept out promise."

Sam heard a voice she recognized. Her eyes opened slowly. Her vision cleared somewhat and she spotted Danny. She managed to smile a little. "Danny..." She whispered. She winced as her lungs protested against her words, but the morphene helped to keep the pain down.

"Yeah baby." He smiled. "Princess I have to go soon. Not because I want to. Because they will make me." Tears came down his face. He kissed her forehead. "You need to get better because we never did finish our honeymoon. I love you baby." He got up.

Sam's lips parted. She wanted to talk to him so bad. She wanted to tell him she was sorry too. She wanted to tell him she loved him, but she couldn't. Her throat was dry and the pain in her lungs wouldn't allow her to breathe well, let alone talk.
The nurse came back and walked over to her bed, giving her a shot of something. "You need to go now." She told Danny. "She needs to rest."
Sam slowly passed out from whatever the nurse had given her.

"Ok love you Princess." He left the room. Tears coming down his face. He went back to where he was just staring.

Sam woke up late into the night. She looked around the dark empty room and remembered what had happened. Outside she could see the city and hear cars screeching on their brakes. A tear tracked its way over her cheek. She was so lonely. She wanted to be in Danny's arms. She wanted to talk with him. She wanted to say sorry. She wanted to tell him she loved him. This is all my fault... Slowly she cried herself to sleep again.
Danny sat there. He didn't want to tell her the truth because that would hurt her. "They didn't know it was you sis."
Calla focused hard. She wanted her body back. "Get out of my body." She yelled into her head.
"Danny there is a strange lady who wants to get in this body. She says it's hers. Well this is my body now."
Calla focused harder. She needed back in. "I said out."
"If she wants this body and I want." She got up to the broken glass. "No one can have it now." She stabbed herself. And she let go.
Callas body started shaking. Blood came out of her mouth.
"Josh I don't feel good."
