Once Upon A Time and Lara

Sam shut up, somewhat hurt. She was tired, but she did not want to go to sleep. In fact, that was the last thing on earth she wanted to do.

He walked up the stairs and to the bed he sat down and hold her like a baby. He rocked her gently."Come on Princess everything will be ok. I promise you I would take care of you. You have to get some sleep."

Sam wanted to stay awake so badly, but she was so tired, and Danny was rocking her gently. Her eyes closed, and she drifted off. I knew you would break eventually. The voice immediately told her. I will find you. You will not last long Samantha. The voice left, replaced by nightmares. Sam began to panic. She woke up screaming. She stopped, but she was shaking. She buried her face into Danny's shirt. "I can't go back to sleep Danny, I can't."

"Shh it's ok. You have to go back to sleep. Your not well. I won't let anything happen to you ok. I'm right here." He kept rocking her."Please Princess. Get some sleep." He was begging her to.

Sam shook her head, she had to stay awake, she couldn't re live that nightmare again. "The dream will come back, and that voice! I may die again..." She was scared. More scared than she had ever been in her life, and she had been through a lot.

"You have to. It's not good for you health." He kept rocking her back and worth."I promise you nothing will happen.

Sam couldn't fight the sleepiness. Her eyelids seemed to weigh at least two tons each. She fell asleep again. This time, there was no voice, just nightmares. They attacked her mind. Sam fidgeted, and began to sweat. This was not sleeping. This was living hell. She tried to close her eyes in her dream, but every time she did that, the nightmare was worse when she opened.

"Shh" he kept whispering in her ears."I'm right here. Think happy thoughts." He kept rocking her.

Sam couldn't get rid of the nightmares. They attacked her mind. She knew she would have to do something about them, and soon. But she shouldn't trouble Danny with her problems. She would need to do it alone. It should be easy, she would just sneak out tonight and get rid of who ever belonged to that voice.
Sam was shivering in Danny's arms. The nightmares would not go away.

He grabbed her a blanket. He covered her up. He rocked her still. He would leave her out of her sight. "I'm right here."

Sam fell into a deeper sleep. The nightmares dulled a little. She could still see them, but now she felt protected, and the despair was replaced with warmth.

"I'm right here Princess." He rocked her still.

The day was wearing on. Sam woke up finally, and looked up at Danny. She looked down again, those nightmares had been awefull, but she did feel more rested, "Thanks for staying with me." She said softly.

"No problem Princess." He still had a hold of her.

"Do you want to grab supper and go to bed early?" She asked him.

"No sweetheart not now." He shook his head.

Sam put on a puppy face, "Then what do we do?" Sam was anxious for the night to come. She wanted to get out and end the nightmares once and for all. But, she realized, she couldn't be too quick yet, or Danny might notice something.

"What time is it?" She asked, wondering how long she had slept.

Sam nodded. Almost supper time. "You sure you don't want to go eat? I haven't had breakfast or lunch, and I am kind of hungry." She admitted.

Danny had not answered. Sam raised a brow, "Danny? Did you even hear what I just said?"

"I'm just a little weak." He gave her a weak smile.

Sam was worried, "Are you ok? What happened?"

"I'm worried that you will do something stupid to stop those nightmares." He shook his head."You wouldn't do that without me James and Calla."

Sam fidgeted, looking down. "Of course I wouldn't..." I have to! I can't risk Danny's life over my own problems. I wouldn't be able to live with myself if anything happened to him...

"Ok I hope you wouldn't because if anything happened to and I wasn't there. I would die."

Sam gulped, "You can't just give up like that if something happens to me, or if I disappear." She looked up at him, "I would want you to come rescue me, not to just die before you knew what happened." She frowned."Promise me you won't kill yourself until you know for sure that I am dead, and there is no possible way to bring me back?" She needed him to promise her that. If something did go wrong tonight, she would need him alive to help her, and not dead right away.

"I promise I won't kill myself until I know for sure you are dead." She said honestly. She refrained from promising that she wouldn't go anywhere.

Sam looked down and played with the bed covers. "I" She started, finding this harder than she thought it would be. "I won't go anywhere." She lied.

"You don't sound to sure about that."

That's cause I'm not sure. "I won't go anywhere." She said again, hoping he would believe her lie.

"Promise please."

Sam fidgeted, her insides squirming. "I promise." She said, her heart beating out of control. She had just lied to Danny. She hoped he would forgive her.

Sam nodded and smiled a bit. She sniffed, "Smell's like food. Do you want to go check it out?"

James smiled, "There you are. We were starting to wonder when you guys would show up. Are you all ok now?"
Sam nodded and smiled, "Yeah." She said, "We're fine." She bit into the pizza.

Sam nodded, "Pretty much." She finished one more piece and felt full. "I'm going to go to bed, it's already nine thirty and I am exhausted from this morning." She said honestly.

"I'm coming with you." He picked her up."I'm going to tell you a story." He held her tightly.

Sam nodded. "Ok." She would listen to his story, she couldn't sneak out until later anyways.

"I'm game for any story you have. But don't make it too long, I want to go to sleep." She said honestly.

"Your not fine. Ok. I'm taking you to get some sleep." He said these words harshly. He didn't mean to raise his voice at her.
