"she would to save you." He said.She looked at James. She didn't know what was wrong. "I kissed him to save Sam I think." She was confused. "I think I like Mark." SHe said absentmindly. "No I love him thats it but she wasn't so sure."
Sam bit her lip and leaned her head on his shoulder again. "Oh I hope she doesn't. That would be suicide."James stared at her. "You did this to save Sam? Without talking to me about it first? Calla... how could you?" He asked, shocked and hurt. Despite the pain he felt at her betrayal, he cupped her face and kissed her gently. "If you really love him more, then you can stay with him, if you wish."
"But she would." He said. "Thats probably whats taking them so long."SHe was frighten by the kissed and back away. She looked at him wide eyed. She was shaking some. She was under his control. "Why would I love you?" She asked confused. She went near Mark. She looked up at James. "I barley know you." She said.
Sam bit her lip. "No..." she whispered.James nodded, sighing softly. His heart was snapping, shattering slowly. But he wanted her to be happy, and if she was going to be happier with Mark than him, then he would let her go. "I hope you know I will always love you. Goodbye Calla." He whispered, and walked away.
"we have to get there before he does anything stupid. Calla wouldn't be herself so she could say something and hurt JAmes then he will do something then everything will arise in chaos." Calla looked at him confused. "What do you want to do Mark?" She asked with a smile.
Sam nodded slowly. "Alright!" She agreed. She teleported them to the ourtskirts of the school.Mark smiled. "I would love to do lots of things with you babe. But kissing is fine for now."
James soared down into hell and flew where he knew no one would, nor could find him. He locked himself in and huddled to the floor, wrapping his wings around himself.
Hes not here he couldn't sense him. "I think he is going to break we need to kill Mark." He said. He hoped that would work.She smiled some at him. She looked at him and kissed him softly then a little harder. She thought she loved him but she could only really love James.
"We need to find Calla she needs to snap out of it. James will do something and she will be left alone." He saw them kissing. "Mark get away from her now." He threw a knife at him hitting him in the heart. Calla stepped back. She was so confused. She looked at Sam and Danny. She felt weak she didn't see JAmes. She collasped on the ground.
"Sam get Calla and take to the Castle I think shes okay." He said. JAmes shes okay now she needs you
Get out of my head!!! He shouted, closing his mind. He had not really heard Danny, as he had not wanted to heat him. The only person he would be open to hearing now would be Calla. He closed his eyes and slumped onto his side, staying curled tightly. His core was flickering, dying slowly.Sam nodded and scooped up Calla, teleporting her to the castle. "Calla?" She said softly, laying her down. "Are you ok?"
Danny didn't know what top say. He just teltported to them. "Hes not answering." He said,."James where is James I need him." She was soon out of her mind and weak. "James where is he." She was confused. James help please She begged in her head. She frowned some using the last of her power. She slowly started to breath. Help
James heard her plea and sighed softly to himself. Even though she wasn't his anymore, he would always love her, and he would help her when she needed it. So he left hell and flew to them, staying silent as he fixed her and gave her some of his own energy to remember him by. Then he kissed her forehead and smiled sadly. "I do hope you are happy, even though it is not with me." He said, flying out again. Sam just stared sadly. "Calla, why would you send him away like that?" She shook her head. "Poor boy."
She was so confused right now. She wanted to cry but she couldn't . I don't know what she did. "I don't know what I did." She whispered some. Her broke he was gone. "Big brother help." She closed her eyes as her heart broke in half. She closed her eyes and get breathed slow down she didn't know how to live without him. She was slowly dying . I love you James please come back or I will die"This is not good" he whispered
Josh came in immediately. He frowned a little. "Well this isn't helpful at all." He said softly. "Calla, you can't go after him if you're dead, silly girl. If you want him back, you have to live and go explain." He said. "He's not going to come back on his own. Not after all that." He carefully bound Calla's heart together with strong magic so that she would live to go talk to James. "You better hurry. His core is dying. He only left so you would be spared watching him die." He said softly.
She looked at him softly. "Big brother he can't die." She whispered. "He should of known that I was under some control." She whispered again. She got up shaky. She teleported to James. "Don't die." She bit her lip some. "I wasn't myself you can't die I need you." She said. "Why are you dying I need you" She hugged him some. "I need you please stay alive for me I love you so much I was under his control but for now they made him weak so I'm not effected but I need you. YOu were always there before..." She didn't finish her words. "I love you I need you please." She begged.
James had stumbled and fallen by the time she got to him. He was very weak by now, as their bond had broken and he no longer was sustained by her. "The... the bond...." he stammered, gasping for air. He was barely hanging on but was trying his best for her. "The... bond..... broke." He said again. "Fix.... it..... quick....."
Her eyes widen and she nodded quickly. She fixed him up and did the bond. She used a lot of magic to fix. "James never leave me again no matter what happens you have to stay with me. " She looked at him softly and was happy and content. She was shaking and she felt better. "James I know how to defeat my aunt and your going to say no to it." She whispered.
James gasped and panted as his core started to get stronger again. He sat up and hugged her tightly. "You said I should go." He said seriously. "Im sorry." He said and kissed her cheek. "If I would say no to your plan, then why would you even think of it?" He asked seriously.
"Because its a good idea." She whispered. "I have a question before anything when my aunt hired you did you take the job on purpose because of something or did you take because you need the pay." She asked.
James sighed softly. "Both in a way." he said honestly. "She offered me a lot of money, and threatened the life of my sister should I not do it." He said, raking both his hands through his hair as he huffed.
She looked at him . She was hoping it would be the connection that they had. Ever s in nce she met him she felt like she needed him. "Your sister why would you do anything for hrr?" She paused some. "I shouldnt of said that sshe's your sister anf you love her" she sughed some"Did you like me before we meant or was it tgwt you hated me?" She whispered.
James nodded. "Shes my sister. I used to love her a lot more than I do now." He said softly. Then he shook his head. "I never hated you." He said seriously. "Yes. I was going to kill you. But that obviously never happened."
She nodded her head." For my idea I needed to turn light and suck out the power if the castle"sge saud. She knew his answer.
James shook his head. "Ok. Sorry to be a downer, but that's not possible. The castle has no power, for one. Just spells that protect it, and power can't be pulled from those. That's like saying you'll suck the power out of a piece of paper. Or a rock." He said, shaking his head. "And two. How are you supposed to turn light? We're already bonded demons..."
She looked at him and nodded her head. She wanted to cry right now. He didn't have any faith in her. "It was just an idea." She said softly. "James I should of never mention anything like that how silly could a foolish girl get." I did fell in love with someone way out of my league She thought to herself.
James heard her thoughts as always. He lifted his hand to caress her cheek gently. "Hey. Don't call yourself that. You are a very bright girl, and I would never want anyone else as my mate. You have come up with many great ideas, this one is just not one of them." He said gently.
"It is a good idea." She said and backed away softly. "sam says there is magic in the castle to protect it if I could turn light and get the magic and then kill my aunt then everything will be okay." She said. She sighed some. "Hi big brother." His sister came out of the shadows. "This is urgent Hades and the other demons are complaining about some things first your never her to do your job as demon king to control the demons and some people think you have gone soft. HAdes wants you to go to the ball and bring her along and be careful don't let him know she is a demon he will take control over her like the other demons and you know what happens with that." She said.
"How can we trust you." Calla said staying near James.
"Because Hades has the people you care about trapped in that castle for motvation. And whatever you do calla don't let him put a necklace he will want you to do his dirty work or worse." She said,
"James can we trust her?" She whispered.
"Hello sister." James said curtly. "I have been attending to my duties, whenever time allows." He said simply, his demeanor neither cold nor friendly. Then he nodded. "I will take a trip down to see how things have been going." He agreed. "And I might attend the ball. But it is not necessary. And it certainly is not necessary to bring Calla. Especially with Hades around." He said simply.
She looked at him with a smile. "Always doing things by your way? Shes not safe he knows and wants her I'm trying to help you with this." .Calla looked up at him and smiled. "I thought I taught something." She said.
James sighed. "So bringing her to him will keep her safer?" He asked, shaking his head. "I can't risk that. Hades can't come up to earth to get her. She'll be safest here." He said seriously.
"Why is everyone so worried about me? All I am is a regular demon. Its not like I'm powerful or anything? Or is there something you guys aren't telling me?" She asked looking up at James."She doesn't know about the prophecy? The one about that was said before you took the job of killing her? The plan was to kill her and not her live. You never planned about falling in love in with her. Listen Calla I know you hate me and don't like me, but my brother has things he didn't tell you because he used to hiding things and keeping it from people. So what if he fell in love with someone. You guy are starcrossed lovers. Your not meant to be together it will only lead to death and despair."
Callas faced pale. She couldn't cry at all. "James is she right about us not suppose to be together? "
James raised an eyebrow at his sister, wondering why she would say something like that. "No. She isn't right." He told Calla. "There is no prophesy, just a rumor someone made up to get back at me. Trust me Calla, it's not something real." He said gently. He looked back at his sister. "What are you trying to do? Are you trying to pick a fight by bringing that up? You know it was just a bunch of lies, so why would you bother my mate with news like that?" He looked back at Calla. "I am worried about you, because you are my mate and I love you. Is that wrong?" He asked.
She looked at him sadly and nodded her head slowly. "I'm not making anything up Hades want Calla now." She said. "I was going to help you but you know what forget that." She shouted. She waved her hand putting a necklace on Calla. Calla fell down fighting to keep control of herself. "come Calla Hades wants you now." She said."james help." Calla shouted.
James growled. "Ok. Now you're crossing a line. Bug off sister. Seriously. What's wrong with you?" He walked over to Calla and took off the necklace, snapping the clasp. He melted it in his hands and shook his head. "Enough with the necklaces." He said, scooping up Calla bridal style. He carried her to their room. "And leave us alone!" He called, shutting the door. He took her to the bed and curled up with her. "It's ok. Calla, I promised. You're safe now." He whispered, stroking her hair gently.
She was shaking some after the necklace was taken off. She melted against James. She was scared.She felt a little weak because of the necklace was taking her self control to do anything. "James why does Hades want me?" She whispered. She snuggled into him closing her eyes softly. "why does he want I'm not as powerful as you James. IF you didn't take the neckalce off I would of lost all my control. you would come after me right if Hades got me. You wouldn't shut down." She whispered.
James sighed. "Hades likes pretty girls." He said softly. "And it would seem his eye has fallen to you." He added, looking at her apologetically. "I would try to come after you Calla, but it is more likely I would shut down before then. Since we are bonded, we can't function apart." He explained. Sam had left the fighting quietly and walked away through the castle, looking at all the bright murals and paintings on the walls. She fingered the tapestries and smiled softly, missing her people.
She nodded some trying not to look like she was upset, She which she could feel the tears coming down her face. She bit her lip and snuggled her face into his chest to not show he was upset. She sighed some. "How do we make sure you don't break because when you do it hurts me it feels like you don't want to try to get me."Danny turned his shoulder to look for Sam. He sighed not knowing where she was. He walked slowly aroudn the castle. It seemed that she wanted to be alone. She sighed and walked to his bedroom
James held her tightly, understanding her need to be comforted. "Calla... I can't change how I function. I'm a demon. Demon pairs are meant to be inseparable. You being taken from me, would be the same as stabbing a knife through my heart." He explained. "It's not something I can change."Sam sighed, looking at the depictions of tall, shining people and a tear slowly fell from her eye. She hastily wiped it away so no one would see and shook her head. She left the tapestries and walked to the kitchen to get a snack.
She didn't say anything at first. She bit her lip. She nodded her head. She would never be able to be a demon. She had hummanity where most of the time they didn't. She thought everything was so much easier for her when James was a witch or to her. Or even better yet when she didn't need someone to depend on. "Do you even love me? I thought demons can't love or feel or anything that deal with hummanity." She said coldly.Danny felt that they were falling apart and drifting away. He wanted her to love him and stay with him forever. He felt like something was different about her. He was most likely paranoid.
James shrank back like he had been struck. "What have I done that makes you think I have no heart?" He asked, offended. Sam made herself a sandwich and sat down to eat it slowly, wondering where Danny was
She looked at him. "I'm sorry I didn't think you could be offened." She said. She was trying to make the pain go away in her heart. She either ran when things went bad or blocked her feelings out. She was doing the second thing. She slowly got up. "Your always going to be a demon and all I am is a girl who thought she was in love with someone who turned out to be something else and that hurt and hurts that if I needed to be resuced you wouldn't come for me. I feel ashamed to depend on someone because I never needed to and now I do and I can't cry." She was shaking. She was slowly breaking. "And your crazy sister wants me to go to Hades becuase he wants me." She shouted.Danny slumped to the floor. He bit his lip some. He had an idea he was going to have some fun. He teleported to a bar. He got some beer and soon was drunk. His powers started to go out of control.
James took a couple steps back. He had never known Calla to be so cold. "What happened to you?" he asked, stunned. "What did I ever do to you to deserve this!?" He asked. "If you don't want this obviously heartless demon..." He said, shaking his head. "Fine, leave me alone. But know that that is your choice. It would be your choice to be alone of you want that so much. I want nothing but you. But if you are going to push me away, fine. I can't stop you." He said. Sam frowned, feeling a twinge that meant Danny was up to something, but she didn't know what. She got up and started walking around the castle. "Danny?" she called.
She looked at him. She widen her eyes at what she said. She cringed at his words. "I'm sorry." She whispered. She bit her lip. "ITs too much for me to handle and I break and I blocked my feelings." She was shaking now. She backed away some. "I love you I really do, but I really dont' think I can handle much more." She said. 'I'm breaking." He smiled he was having fun. Something he didn't have forever.
James softened and sighed softly. "Then why didn't you just say so?" he asked, smiling weakly. He walked over and hugged her gently. "We'll get through this together, alright?"Sam sighed, not being able to find him in the castle. She figured he would come back eventually. She went to their bedroom to nap while she waited for him.
"I'm not good at doing anything because I never needed someone to depend on until you." She hugged him back. "Hades doesn't want to give up one me does he?" She whispered. "I"m not a good demon?" She whisperedHe smiled some. He then teleported back his powers were reacting.
James stroked her hair. "You are a great demon, and I love you just the way you are." he promised, kissing her forehead. "Hades will always have his eyes on some girl or other." he said tiredly. "Just hope he forgets about you."Sam felt Danny return and she smiled. I'm in our room. She thought to him.
She smiled some. "I don't feel think or act like a demon." She said. She looked at his eyes. 'I have this feeling that he wants me and wants me bad I don't see why he wants me." She whispered to him. "Are you mad at me?" She asked.He smiled some and walked up to his room. "Hi baby." He slured.
James sighed softly. "I figured he might. He usually does. Let me know if you figure out why." he said seriously. Then he shook his head. "No. Of course I'm not mad."Sam sat up in surprise. "Danny... are you drunk!?" She asked, shocked.
She looked at him. "I think he is either mad from out last encounter or he made a deal with my aunt." She whispered. She looked down. "I said a lot of mean things on how I felt and I didn't want to hurt you and I did." She said."Yes I have feeling you didn't want to be here so I had fun." he said.
James sighed. "We'll figure this out." He promised. "I'm sure we can get Hades to lay off on you. Though I do know he couldn't have made a deal with your aunt, because she can't get into hell. She isn't a demon." he said seriously. Then he smiled softly. "Thank you for the apology. I forgive you." he promised, kissing her head. Sam's mouth dropped open. "Fun..." She repeated. "This is your idea of fun? Did you do anything with any girls?"
She nodded her head some. "MY aunt is smart and she would do anything to get me evil." She whispered. "It doesn't really matter though we are going to be okay right your going to teach me how to be a demon?" She whispered."There wasn't any pretty red heads like you around no blondes either James and I always went with the blondes but then I meant you."
James stared at Calla. "Calla? What do you mean?" He asked.
Mark laughed. "You don't honestly expect her to love you anymore, do you?" He asked. "She kissed me. She's mine."
James growled in rage and punched him, hard.
