Once Upon A Time and Lara
"Ok." She didn't argue. She walked ahead."Beat you there." She started to run. She ran through the forest to the cottage waiting for them to come."So Princess how did you sleep?" Danny was walking alongside Sam.
James grinned and ran after her, chasing her all the way to the cottage."Pretty good, thanks." She said, "How about you?" She felt like skipping she was so happy. There was no reason not to be.
"Finally slow poke." She said laughing. This was so fun. "James can you hold my hand." This would show them that he was her other half."Fine." He sighed"So Princess, is there certain way I have to die?"
"Um, sure." He said, wrapping his hand around hers. He knocked on the door, "Remember, you do the talking."Sam froze for a second, shivers running down her spine. "Yeah." She said shuddering. Why did he need to bring this up now? "They, it's hard to explain... but they lock you inside a star, to summarize it." She said quietly.
"Ok. They won't hate you know. It is impossible to hate a big bad witch hunter like yourself." She said with a big smile. She reached up with her other hand and knocked on the door. "If you don't want to talk about it is fine. All it matters is that I will be with you forever." He added in there.
James smiled, "I hope you're right." He said, waiting for someone to answer the door. "Ok." She said. "But it is only right for you to know what happens." She was so glad he would stay with her forever. She was starting to wonder whether or not it would be good to change now, so that they would be more powerful during the war. "If you want to know about it, feel free to ask. It might be good to get it done sooner than later."
"Well I'm always right." She said smiling. She knocked on the door."James is anybody in there?"When would be a good time?" Asking. Since sooner would be better.
"I think so." He said. He heard footsteps walking around. They grew closer to the door until someone fumbled with the lock and rattled the handle to open the door.Sam tried to hide how scared she was. "Whenever you're ready."
"Can I tell you something. I'm a little afraid". She said in a hushed voice. She held his hand tightly. "Come on Princess we don't want to miss all the fun." Watching Calla and James on the porch.
"It'll be ok." He said.The door opened and a young woman stood there, she stared at them and then began to shut the door again.
Sam caught up to Danny. He had completely changed the topic after what she had just said. "Danny, I think we should go now." She said.
"Wait. Do you know who I am?" She took a breath."I'm the next in line to be the witch queen. Here is my other half. He is a hunter. Anyways we need your help. There is a war. With the dark witches. We need the good hunters. We need them to help us. My parents said most witches know where they are please tell me." She looked over at James and smiled."Go like in kill me now." He didn't me those words to come out in so surprised. "We should at at least tell them something."
The women paused, "Calla?" She asked, surprise on her face.Sam flinched, "I can go by myself if you would rather." She said softly. "James, I am leaving now." She said.
James turned from the women, "What! Where?"
"To change. I will be back to help you win the war." She said.
"Ok." James said, a little worried, "See you soon I guess."
Sam nodded and turned, walking into the forest. She wanted to get this over with.
"Yeah Calla." She nodded her head slowly."I'm coming with you Princess. I met what I said. I will go anywhere with you." He looked up at Sam.
The woman gasped. "In that case. You can find them at the villiage two miles south from here, but leave quickly please, lest others see me talking to you. Good luck." She said, closing the door. Sam turned to Danny. She had a tear brimming in the corner of her eye. Her emotions were going haywire. She couldn't do this. She couldn't lead Danny to his death. She loved him too much. "You should stay here Danny, I don't want anyone to hurt you. Even if it means we can't be together."
"What do you mean by that?" It was to late she shut the door. "James what do you think she means by that?""No I'm going with you. I said I'm ready." He looked up at Sam. What doesn't she understand by I will follow you anywhere you go.
"I know where the villiage is." James said. "Lets go." He wasn't sure why the woman seemed to be scared of being around Calla. It made him uneasy. Sam nodded. "Ok." He better be sure about this. She closed her eyes and telleported them into the stars. The lead starlighter met her.
"Back so soon?"
Sam nodded, "I am ready to Change. Now." She nodded to Danny, "He is going to Change with me."
"James what was she talking about?" She asked again. He was giving his life for her. He was absolutely sure he was ready to do it. He wants to spend the rest of his life with Sam.
"I don't know." He said honestly, walking beside her towards the village. "But your aunt must be stronger for the witches to be so afraid of being seen with you."The starlighter nodded and smiled, "Finally." He said.
A she-starlighter nodded towards two small stars, "Those will be your stars." She said.
Sam nodded, gulping. She reached over and slid her hand into Danny's for comfort. Despite that she knew what would happen, she was still scared.
She gulped. "I don't know. We need to find these hunters." She dropped the subject quickly."What did you like about your parents?""What are afraid of Princess. We will be together forever." He looked up at Sam with a smile.
James kept walking, "They were honest, and loyal. Very set in their ways and opinions. I admired their steadfastness." He said. Sam nodded, she wished that she could be as brave as him. She tried to smile, her heart pumping out of control, "See you when it is over." She managed to whisper.
Floating over to her star, squinting as the heat grew, she waited as a hole grew in the surface. It would be blazing hot inside. After all, it was a star. But her old body had to die, so that she could gain a new one, rich with the powers in the star.
When the hole was big enough, she forced herself to fly through the hole and into the small space inside the star, the hole quickly shutting after her.
"Did you ever miss your parents?" She missed her parents everyday. She used to cry herself to sleep."See you when it is over." He took a deep breath. He walked over to his star. He was ready to die. He wasn't going to die die. He will become a new person. He felt the heat over come him. He couldn't breathe he stopped. A few minuets later he woke up grogy. Did he make it through this?
James paused, and then nodded, "Yes. Everyday. But they trained us not to show it." He said. "I guess I have learned to live without them."Sam felt the heat encompass her body. She was curled up and couldn't move. She started to panick as the heat grew so intense that it felt like it would melt her. Her skin burned and the light blocked out her vision.
Her eyes snapped open to darkness. The star she had been in was gone. She felt like she had been run over by a bus. Every bit of her was tingling. She looked at her hands. They seemed to be glowing. The star she had been inside was now inside her. She could feel it's power flowing in her.
She was no longer dressed in her old clothes, but now she wore a white robe, tied at the middle with a sash.
"Maybe if this war ends nice you will see them again." She smiled. He looked up to see his skin glowing. He felt power coursing through his body. Was it over? Can he Sam? He felt better than he had before. This is what power felt like. He felt warm and cozy inside. "Sam." He whispered. Wanting to know where she was.
"Yeah." He said. "Hope so." He kept walking along. Seeing his parents again would be really nice.Sam turned when she heard her name. She saw Danny floating a little way off. She gasped. He was handsome before, but he was gorgeous now. His features still looked relatively the same, but they were more intense, his angles more angular, his eyes a brighter blue, the glasses no longer needed. His hair was a golden blonde. He too was in a white robe. She floated over to him and hugged him, filled with pure joy. They had made it. It would be ok now.
"This has been on mind. Do you think your parents joined the resistance?" "Sam." He turned to see her. He hugged her tightly. "How are feeling Princess?" He asked with a smile.
"Maybe." He said. Then he added, "I hope so.""Great." She smiled, "I feel, clean. And warm, and powerful." She said. She looked him up and down, "So, how do you like the powers?"
"The reason I'm asking because I remember the little boys name now." She looked up at him."I don't know. I feel different and I feel power coursing through me." He sighed. "So Princess what do we do now?" He felt like he needed or do something. He was waiting for Sam's cue on what to do.
"Really?" He asked. "Who is it?""That is good." She said, smiling. "We need to swim in the star lake, and then we are ready to go back to earth." She said. She lead him to a pool of water that seemed to be filled with turquoise, glowing water. "Ready to jump in?" She asked. Her skin longed for the waters. They were the last part in the Changing.
"I think it was Jake or Jay? Those both sound like nick names. I know it begin with J." What name begin with J? She was confused.He nodded. The water looked so nice to swim in. He took a deep breath. "I'm ready when ever you are Princess." He felt an urge to swim in it.
"Jay?!?" James asked, "That's what my parents called me..." He said quietly. "I am the boy! My parents must be the leaders of the good hunters." He realized."Turn around, you." Sam said grinning. She couldn't swim in her robe, and she didn't have anything else on. Once in the waters, he wouldn't be able to see her, she hoped.
"That means I have to meet your parents" She gulped. "Ok." He said grinning. He turned around.
James grinned, "They'll like you." He said. "There is no reason not to." He winked. Sam let her robe drop and quickly dove into the cool water. She splashed around, loving the feeling on her skin. It calmed the tingling and heightened the warmth. "Come on in!" She said, laughing and diving under the waters. She broke the surface again, "It feels so good!"
"Are you trying to earn suck up points?" She let a laugh out."Because it is working. She saw the village ahead."We are almost there." She said with a smile."Ok." He jumped in the lake. He didn't want to take the his robe off. "Princess I'm so glad I chose to be with you." He said with a grin.
James laughed. He lead her to the house where his parents lived. Knocking on the door quickly, he stepped back and waited for it to be opened."I'm glad then too." She said, smiling. She snapped her fingers and a white flame appeared above it. She snapped again and it disapeared, "You try." She said, playing around with her new and stronger powers.
"Do you think they will remember?" Asking James. She was nervous. They had to be the good hunters right."Who should do the talking?"He snapped his fingers. A flame appeared. He did it again and it disappeared."That is so cool" He said with a big smilie on his face.
Before James could answer, the door opened and his mother appeared at the door. "Jay?" She asked, astounded."Hi Mom." He said.
She looked at Calla, "And who is this?"
"I know right?" She slid out the the pool, a beautiful dress hung from her shoulders, the color of the star waters. "Time to go." She said.
"I'm Calla Lucas." She reached for James open hand and squeezed. She was about to go into the uncharted territory. She couldn't think about what to say or do next.He got up the pool with something else on too."You look beautiful in that dress Princess." He said smiling.
"Nice to meet you." James' mother said. "So what do you two need?" She asked."Thanks." Sam said, "You look rather dazzling yourself." She closed her eyes and transported them out of the star realm. They landed in a forest. It was light out, but Sam could tell that she still glowed a bit.
"We need your help. My parents use come here a lot. There is a war going on. My aunt is getting powerful. The light witches are afraid to be seen near me or talking to me. She wants me and James dead. We needed allies and you were the first thought that came to mind." She probably talked a little to fast."Are we suppose to be glowing?" He ask not sure what people will think of him glowing.
James' mother looked around, "You better come inside." She said, opening the door wider. James followed her into the house.
"You can turn it off." She said, extinguishing the light inside her. "But when you use your powers, you will glow. It comes in handy in dark caves." She grinned. leaping into the sky, she tipped upwards and towards a trail of smoke in the distance. That was where Calla and James were. "Well? Come on!" She called down to Danny, encouraging him to try flying.
Calla followed James inside. "Why is everyone so afraid to be near me?" She sighed."James we need to tell them about the um?" "Can you help me?" He asked not knowing what to do.
"I don't know." He said. They walked into a sitting room where his mother gestured for them to sit down.Sam floated back down. "Jump into the air, and then tip forwards." She said, demonstrating. "It's easy once you get it the first time."
She followed James and sat down by him. Still holding his hand tightly. She didn't want to make any bad impressions on his mom. "Could someone please explain why everyone is afraid of me."He did as Sam said. He jumped up and lean forward. "I'm doing it." He flew over to where Sam was."Princess I don't like you." He paused for a second."I love you." He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. And he will.
"The dark witch." James' mother answered. "She is stronger. We can not let others see us with you." She said sadly. "They would kill you, and us.""But there is a rebellion, right?" James asked.
Sam smiled, "I love you too." She said softly. "And now that we are immortal, we will have the rest of eternity with each other." She flew forwards, "Now lets go get James and Calla." She said.
"Others you mean the good witches. Why aren't you afraid of the hunters? My aunt is strong,but I'm stronger. So will James.""Yeah ok. Lead the way Princess." He let a light laugh out.
The women shook her head, "The hunters are our friends." She said. "Why will James be stronger? What is happening to him?""You bet." Sam grinned and sped off, reaching the cottage in a matter of seconds.
"Nothing is the matter with him." She didn't know what to say. She always brought up things at bad times."My big bad witch hunter boyfriend here is going to um....." She was cut off by a knock. "There back." She said with a smile. Danny landed. He went up to the door and knocked.
James nodded and got up, walking over to the door. He was glad for an interruption. He rattled the door handle and pulled it open.Sam smiled, "Hey guys!" She said. She wasn't sure how they would react to their new and improved bodies.
"Hi. Sam this James mom." Pointing over to his mom. "We were just to tell her about that my big bad witch hunter boyfriend..." She couldn't finish off the sentence. "Oh you mean you guys are going to do some type of ceremony and he is going to become a witch?"
Her face grew pale."Danny can you ever mind your own business?"
Sam nodded, "Good idea." She began walking towards the cottage. "Well? Lets get going!"
