I liked the book, but I admit it was mostly because of the bridge bits. I'm a bridge fanatic, and hope that by the time I get old, there will still be people playing.
After the next fifty pages I had read, not that much has picked up. Some of the major points is the introduction of a new character called Toni Castaneda whose family seems a little off the deep end. Another would be the new car that Alton received from his Uncle Lester when his car broke down in the middle of the road. I feel kinda foolish for not mentioning the reason why Alton is spending time with his uncle playing bridge with him. The reason Alton spending time with his uncle is because his family made him do it because they know that their uncle is really rich. And with his uncle's sickness his health is going down pretty fast. Alton acts as his uncle's card turner because his uncle had recently became blind. What Alton does as a card turner is he tells the uncle what cards he has(making sure no one else hears) and deals whatever card his uncle says he should. Im a little confused if the people who play cards say which card they have played or Alton says which card the people have played to his uncle. Either way, it is kind of interesting how one can play cards without seeing anything. Looking forward for things to start picking up.

Some things I like about the book is its writing style. The book is written from the first person view of Alton but the thing is that Alton narrates it and sometimes talks about the book itself. Not like describing the book but basically breaking the fourth wall. An example from the book is from when he is first talking about learning some Bridge. Quite a cool thing the author added if you ask me. Hopefully the book keeps doing this in the next fifty pages.
