I didn't care for the actor who was cast as Magnus in the movie. I found his acting less than stellar, and later discovered that he is a model before he is an actor. He was specifically picked by Cassandra Clare because he most closely "embodied" Magnus' character. I was really disappointed with Magnus in the movie because he had been one of my favorite characters in the books. The movie somewhat ruined my impression of him :(
