Retail links don't work. Can someone please help me?

To distinguish between the old version and the new version of Reprobate, the new version carries the ISBN, and the old version still carries the ASIN. Now it turns out that the retail links to Amazon don't work, because the link seeks out the ISBN, while Amazon works with the ASIN.

Is there any way to solve this?

Kindle editions should not have ISBNs at all. In this situation you should leave the fields completely blank which triggers Amazon to search on the title field instead.

The ISBN in this case refers to a completely separate edition as Goodreads differentiates between Amazon Kindle editions and generic ebook editions. In this case you have both because the ebook is for sale through other vendors, e.g. Barnes and Noble. I will tidy your records now and add the TWO other editions that should be there (original for ebook and alternate cover for Kindle). Please note that the ISBN ebook edition will still not search on Amazon as it is not sold there (similarly the ASIN Kindle would not work at other vendors). As the links are personal to the user, it's up to the user to select the correct edition before searching.

Great, Emy. I got a message from reader who clicked the Amazon link under the GR listing and that got her to Amazon with the ISBN in the search box.

I think the same problem will crop up with the other books - 6 publications in total:


I think this happened because I switched covers, but both books and titles are still the same. The ebooks with the drab photograph covers are no longer available at the retailers.

I tried to add ebook editions with ISBN to the distinguish them from the Kindle editions with ASIN, but it doesn't seem to be working... Can anyone help me out? Reprobate works now, thanks to Emy, but I cannot do what she did.

Hi Martyn, it's really important not to include anything but an ASIN on kindle editions. If the ASIN is already taken (because it's a new cover), then leave the ASIN, ISBN, and ISBN13 fields BLANK to force the 'buy a copy' button to search by title. Otherwise, you'll get an error. I have gone through all 6 books and edited/adjusted the editions where needed to either have the correct ASIN (or ISBN) values or to be blank and noted as an alternate cover edition in the description field. If you need to add more editions, or if I missed an edit, feel free to post to the librarians group for help again.

I screwed up myself when I tried to add an ebook version of Peccadillo a few hours ago, so it seems there's a Peccadillo floating about without a cover, at least that how it shows on my author page...

Author pages are heavily cached and take awhile for updates to filter through completely. Give it a day, and the covers will all be present. YOu can see them all here:
