Ok so I can’t quite remember the name of the chapters but I’ll try to comment without making too much spoilers ! Right now I’m almost finished (sorry for not updating earlier) and for starting a couple of days early. I just couldn’t wait !

I really liked in the beginning when (view spoiler)[ Connor stood up to the tree ! I think it was really funny and sweet. (hide spoiler)] Also, Patrick Ness as a narrator is really doing a great job. It’s easy to get sucked in.

I’m pretty sure this book is going to be about (view spoiler)[ Connor dealing with his mom’s death. (hide spoiler)] but there are some parts I am confused about.

I’m sorry to say that I’ll probably forget these three tales even though they are good (IMO). I’m just the kind of reader who often forgets what she’s read ^^’.

Right now I can see the end coming and it’s going to be sad when (view spoiler)[his mom is probably going to die. (hide spoiler)] I still want to hear the fourth tale from Connor.

I just read the first story the monster told him, and it seems to try to help him understand his grandmother - she may be somewhat distant and mean, but she's not awful. We'll see how the story goes. It wasn't the Apothecary, it was the pastor...again drawing a likeliness to how Conor was treating everyone around him...breaking his grandmom's clock, telling his dad he wanted to come to America when it wasn't possible. I feel bad for Conor because I know his mom is dying and he's just a kid so it's got to be hard to process. (hide spoiler)]

I loved this story about a young boy whose mother is dying of cancer. He has dreams where a yew tree comes walking and tells him stories in order for Conor to tell his final truth. Loved the imagery and the struggles of the family dealing with the awful disease.
