Larisa (larisarainstorm) Is there a way to set a notification here in GR so every time my favourite author publishes a book I get an alert in my inbox?

I have several authors that I just buy immediately (Tere Michaels, Madeleine and Roux, Lanyon, Rhys Ford, etc) after I find out they have published a new book, but I really don't have time to look everyday to see if they have published something.
Thanks!

Kaje Harper | 17365 comments Those are all adult-fiction authors, of course, but the principle is the same. If anyone knows, post it here. Otherwise I'll check it out.

I wouldn't mind notifications for David Levithan myself.

BTW, most authors have a blog you can subscribe to, where they will post about upcoming work. Of course, you may have multiple blog entries about other topics with some authors.

John (infopump) | 20 comments If you put a book which hasn't been released yet on your "to-read" shelf, you'll get a notification when it's available.

Kaje Harper | 17365 comments That's a great start, although you have to know it's coming, and it has to be listed before the release.

I remember getting author release info, maybe with the monthly newsletter... I've asked over on the adult M/M group.

Larisa (larisarainstorm) Thanks a lot for your answers, I think it would be really good for all readers if something like this existed. I do not see what is the point of becoming a "fan" of an author in GR if I am not going to get an alert when the author publishes a book too.

The only thing I can think of from GR that is even close is the new release email. It's under the emails tab in the user profile. It will let you know about anything in GR that an author you have rated a book from. If you preview, you can see this month and the next.

Here is the link to the preview:

And then I suppose if you mark things TBR, you will get a notice when they release.
