This being said, this one may turn out darker than the first. Or maybe not.

Those two goddesses are creepy/scary.

Tuatha Dé Danann, (Gaelic: “People of the Goddess Danu”), in Celtic mythology, a race inhabiting Ireland before the arrival of the Milesians (the ancestors of the modern Irish). They were said to have been skilled in magic, and the earliest reference to them relates that, after they were banished from heaven because of their knowledge, they descended on Ireland in a cloud of mist. They were thought to have disappeared into the hills when overcome by the Milesians. The Leabhar Gabhála (Book of Invasions), a fictitious history of Ireland from the earliest times, treats them as actual people, and they were so regarded by native historians up to the 17th century. In popular legend they have become associated with the numerous fairies still supposed to inhabit the Irish landscape.

You know, one of my problems to get in the story is that I always thought of the Tuatha Dé Danann as the Fae. And in Hounded I got the idea that the fae are gods instead of the "usual" ones. So my brain is still confuse with that notion.
I guess being in the middle of Shadowfever at the same time didn't helped.

They are in some ways very similar and others totally different.

The Tuatha Dé Danann appear in The Silver Bough (which i read some what recently), since it happens in Ireland, and they are portrait as very tiny, very very very old, and having a connection with Avalon.

The first one's not really a spoiler, but just in case... (view spoiler)
Too funny!
Also from that same scene about 2 minutes later, (view spoiler)
Love the little comments in this book. :)

Hal comes in: "Great gods of seething darkness, why the hell are you naked in the widow's house? And you've got a new set of scratches and scrapes all over you. So help me, ..."
I also loved that scene.

I haven't read that one. Very tiny. Interesting.

oh boy.. i've been giggling so much this book =D "
Oh, that scene was great too!

though it seems like he just keeps having bad things happening to him.. how on earth did he managed to survive for so long if his life was always in mortal peril? o_O

No you got it right. I just don't recall anything I read saying they were tiny people. That kind of puts a different spin on them.

I've been asking myself that very question with each book. He keeps getting himself in deeper and deeper. Just wait. I'm reading Hunted right now. So far I haven't lost my interest in the series yet.

He always used to move away to a new location, remember? He had a life in hiding. Now that he has decided to stay where he is, he will be dealing with this kind of stuff. Plus, there always seems to be one that gets away. There were a couple that got away or were let go in this book. Can't wait to see how that plays out in book 3. Of course, the next book should be him taking on Thor (Hammered - seems about right!). I'm sure he'll have to deal with something because of that in the fourth book!

I love the big battle at the end! I also appreciate that the events of each book carry through somewhat to the later ones. And Oberon is just hilarious!

It's really worth buying the audiobooks for this series.

i'm listening to the UK version for this one and i'm not sure which one i like better but just wanted to say that oberon's voice is ridiculous in both of them. i guess you just can't do a talking dog voice without making it sound that way

I think we can officially judge that despite being 2,000 years old he seems to be permanently mentally stuck at around like 12 years old. Like the whole thing about being unable to talk to Granuaile because she’s in a nighty and being reduced to babbling like a guy whose encountered his first crush. The fact that he seems to have problems controlling himself like a teenager barely entering puberty is kind of weird considering his age.

i promise i don't actually hate him OR these books but that's just like my biggest pet peeve honestly. the parts with coyote made me laugh though and also the parts with laksha [sp?]. i think this might be one of those series where i like the side characters more than the main. not that i necessarily have anything against atticus but like you said he's 2000 years old so maybe act like it on occasion. i do find that very few authors actually write immortal characters in what i consider a realistic way though.

So I honestly do not know how I feel about this book. I waffle between 2 or 3 stars but ultimately it was a 2 star for me. I juts couldn’t get over the sex as a weapon thing. Like on the plus side it was a quick read and it had its moments that made me laugh so I enjoyed it. On the other hand there were several unsettling things that happened that kept me from fully enjoying the book.
@Devann I went and read that review you linked and found that I agreed with it. Like It points out the problems I had with the story. I think I’m going to keep listening to the audiobooks though. I have all the books so I am going to keep listening to them.
Do you want to switch over to BR to the wolves books? Or is there another series you want to buddy read?

I am finally feeling better, thank you! I've never had problems flying, never had this happen before. It was really horrible, I couldn't get out of bed, couldn't stand up because the spinning and nausea made me so sick. And i tried to keep hydrated but it came back up every time so I got dehydrated on top of it. We're going on a cruise in March and flying to San Fran in November so really hoping this was a fluke and the imbalance in my head can be corrected.

On the book I didn’t hate it but I was unhappy about a lot of it which took away from my enjoyment of the story. Like I would be enjoying it and then boom something would happen to put me off due to the behavior of the characters. Like I told Devann I’m going to finish the series as I already have the books but it’ll be slow.

yesterday i was listening to an audio book of a book that i had read before and it started up and was like 'narrated by luke daniels' and i audibly groaned lol. i don't even hate the guy as a narrator but also now i will always associate him with this series which isn't necessarily great. also it was a frankenstein retelling so i was like ??? why did you get a narrator with an american accent? i know he can do other accents but he didn't in this other book so it was weird.

What is a Buddy Read?
This is an "Informal Buddy Read"
An “Informal Buddy Read” doesn’t have a discussion leader and participants are asked to consider some generic questions when making comments about the book. An example is here.
Book Synopsis
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, doesn’t care much for witches. Still, he’s about to make nice with the local coven by signing a mutually beneficial nonaggression treaty—when suddenly the witch population in modern-day Tempe, Arizona, quadruples overnight. And the new girls are not just bad, they’re badasses with a dark history on the German side of World War II.
With a fallen angel feasting on local high school students, a horde of Bacchants blowing in from Vegas with their special brand of deadly decadence, and a dangerously sexy Celtic goddess of fire vying for his attention, Atticus is having trouble scheduling the witch hunt. But aided by his magical sword, his neighbor’s rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and his vampire attorney, Atticus is ready to sweep the town and show the witchy women they picked the wrong Druid to hex.
