February 2014 book - Belong to Me

Welp, I really wanted to like this book. What I read of it was good, but by the time I started reading it at night I was exhausted and never made it but a few pages. I'm sorry I just wasn't that into it. I really wanted to know who Dev's father is and wanted to see if a relationship grows between Cornelia and Piper. I know Tina was about to finish it last time I knew. What did everyone else think?

I am only half way through it. Jan. and Feb. are my busiest at work and I only manage a few pages each night. I too am curious about Dev's father, if Cornelia will maintain the pregnancy, if Cornelia and Piper will become friends, yet my curiosity isn't quite as strong as other books I've read. I am sometimes annoyed how the author tries to impress the reader with her "smart" characters. It often feels pretentious.

I am anxious to finish and start something else. I will post final thoughts when done.

I did finish it. Liked it better than I thought I would when I first started although I don't know I would be interested in reading anything else by this author. Some of the characters redeemed themselves which is nice, the author doesn't make them one dimensional. Big twist at the end which I didn't see coming.

I finally finished it. The last 80 pages were better than the beginning, but overall the plot felt contrived and the characters pretentious. There are some good lines and insights, but overall fell flat for me.
