Elaine, I have read Gone I thought it was pretty good and I got through it rather quick. Young kids running a muck with no adults. It has a sci-fi edge to it. Have not got around to reading any more of the series though.

Like others I been putting off reading the Divergent Series and now I got the perfect opp to read

That's awesome Marianne. How ..."
Yes, I just keep checking the charity stores on the day I go out to see my Mum..........

Thanks Ashleigh. It sounds pretty good, just not sure if it qualifies for this challenge. My first choice is Wool but I'm not sure if I'll get it in time.

Well it seems to be working pretty well for you Marianne. Good for you.

I'm not sure this one would qualify Tanvi? It's science fiction/dystopian isn't it?
Anyone else thoughts on this one?

Brenda I've checked some reviews and one person said a blend of Indigenous Dreamtime and a post apocalyptic world in which man destroyed our environment
I was thinking about reading this one too.

I checked the genre shelves and no-one had shelved it under apocalyptic, that's why I asked...but I'm fine with it if others think it is:)
Go for it Tanvi and Mish:) (and thanks Mish)

I've no idea what it's going to be like. I stumbled across it in my search to find an Australian post-apocalyptic writer so I could count in towards my Aussie author challenge.

Sounds ... different Belinda! But it has some great reviews and you've done well finding one which covers both challenges. I hope you enjoy it, and I'll be interested in your thoughts when you're done:)

Taken from the Apocalyptic Book Links
Something from the Nightside 1/2/14 ★★★★

The Nightside, part of a realm under/beside London seems to be in another dimension ~ it's always 3am in the morning. Some things only like the dark.
This is a seriously bad place for those not aware and not prepared. John Taylor was born in the Nightside. Many creatures fear him coming back.
There were lots of subtle culture references, and also lots of stereotypes, but I've gotta say, I loved the 60's Coke and the casual mention of the 5 Tracy brothers and comments like "the plaque rats go around in pairs cause they're frightened."
Lots of strange people in the Nightside, doing lots of strange things. Probably strangest of all is the Timeslip, where John finds out he causes the end of human civilisation if he goes looking for his mother.
It really reminds me of Kolchak: The Night Stalker TV show, from way back. The action is very TV episode-like as well, like it'd fit between ad breaks.
I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series, but I don't feel a great need to read it now, next month will be fine.

Once I started, I couldn't seem to stop plus it seemed short at only 230 pgs :)

It is quite good

Still mulling over what I have read. Has got 4 stars right now but this could change when I write my review.

If I finish this one quickly, I'd really like to re-read Z for Zachariah. I had to read it in high school and I hear it's about to be made into a movie so it would be good to revise it.

I loved it, the whole series is great! I hope you like them all.

That's good to hear - my daughter raved over it as well and has past the whole trilogy over to me.

Glad to hear it's good!
