March Additional Read Nominations ***CLOSED***

March is Oscar month this year and I'm looking for nominations for books that have been made into films. We will then read and watch both book and film during March and discuss the two (and most likely say the book is better ;) )

- When nominating please include both book AND film title.

- Please make sure to include book link or book cover link. This can be done by clicking on the 'add book / author' link above the comment box. If not possible (because you're using the mobile app), then make sure you inlcude both book title and author.
Your nomination will not count if not in either of these formats.

- Please refrain from nominating any book that has already been a group read or scheduled to read as part of the Goodreads Choice Award Book Club. These can be found at https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

- Please do not nominate a second (or later) book in a series read. Your nomination will be not counted if you do.

- Only one nomination per person will be accepted.

- Nominations will close on Sunday 26th, 5pm GMT and will be followed by a poll.

I just noticed on the ebook deals thread that someone mentioned that this book is $2.99 on Amazon right now. Not sure if that's just US or UK, etc.

We're opposite Sandy! I won't read the book until I've seen the movie! I get too angry at things they've left out to actually enjoy the movie!

I'm nominating Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson. It's in theaters now known as the Lone Survivor. Honorable and fabulous story.

This, to me, is one movie that didn't miss a beat. It did a very good job of following the story line very well. But I must say for me this book has one of the best endings - for me it really made the book, and I will say if you already know the end because you see the movie first - I believe it may take away from making the book so good -IMO

Ha, ha! That is true! But, it so much fun for me to rip up the movie! (I'm not much of a movie/TV watcher and my husband loves, loves watching movies and TV)

I'd not heard of Winter's Tale before? Is the movie of the same name? I know 12 Years a Slave is nominated for an Oscar. But Lone Survivor? I've not heard of that movie either.

My nomination is Winter's Tale - same title for book and movie - but it comes out February - I think it is on Valentine's day. So if this doesn't work that is o.k. But major brain fart. I am not nominating this book. I have no desire to read this book. I don't know what I was thinking. My only desire is to see the movie and drool over Colin Farrell. Sorry.

(but I read the book and saw the movie The Help and LOVED both - you should read it!)

I think this is one of the few that I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book. Although both were good.

I loved both - I think it was a tie. It is so rare that I love both the book and the movie.

I second Twelve Years a Slave . The movie is really deserving of the Academy Award . The book is on my kindle .
