I think I will go with City of Bones. The movie goes by the same name: The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones.

I just noticed on the ebook deals thread that someone mentioned that this book is $2.99 on Amazon right now. Not sure if that's just US or UK, etc.

I would like to nominate Beautiful Creatures
. The film goes by the same title. I have had this book for over a year now on my Kindle, it seems like a good opportunity to finally get to it :)
Because its one of my all time favorite movies and because I've never read the book, Jurassic Park (film same name)
I would like to nominate The Life of Pi by Jason Shaverin. My husband wants to watch The movie, but I won't let him till I read the book!
Sandy wrote: "I would like to nominate The Life of Pi by Jason Shaverin. My husband wants to watch The movie, but I won't let him till I read the book!"We're opposite Sandy! I won't read the book until I've seen the movie! I get too angry at things they've left out to actually enjoy the movie!

I'm nominating Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell and Patrick Robinson. It's in theaters now known as the Lone Survivor. Honorable and fabulous story.

This, to me, is one movie that didn't miss a beat. It did a very good job of following the story line very well. But I must say for me this book has one of the best endings - for me it really made the book, and I will say if you already know the end because you see the movie first - I believe it may take away from making the book so good -IMO
Just FYI. Too bad we weren't doing this in December because the movies this year we could have added to this list are:

Ha, ha! That is true! But, it so much fun for me to rip up the movie! (I'm not much of a movie/TV watcher and my husband loves, loves watching movies and TV)
I just get too irritated, Sandy. I remember getting really angry at the miniseries of
after they left an ENTIRE character out!
Lynn wrote: "Aw man, I love that film! And I've never read the book."Me too! I have only seen the movie also!
Since it is Oscar month - I am thinking the Twelve Years a Slave may actually be a nomination for an Oscar?
I'd not heard of Winter's Tale before? Is the movie of the same name? I know 12 Years a Slave is nominated for an Oscar. But Lone Survivor? I've not heard of that movie either.
Sarah, please state what the film is for your book, so the nomination will count (mainly so I don't have to go searching ;) )
Sorry - the Lone Survivor is Emily's nomination in an above thread, message 13.My nomination is Winter's Tale - same title for book and movie - but it comes out February - I think it is on Valentine's day. So if this doesn't work that is o.k. But major brain fart. I am not nominating this book. I have no desire to read this book. I don't know what I was thinking. My only desire is to see the movie and drool over Colin Farrell. Sorry.

I vote for Lone Survivor as well(but I read the book and saw the movie The Help and LOVED both - you should read it!)

"I think this is one of the few that I actually enjoyed the movie more than the book. Although both were good.
I second Twelve Years a Slave . The movie is really deserving of the Academy Award . The book is on my kindle .
