Where do you think the movies will be split?

I honestly think that they will split it when Peeta chokes Katniss. But they could take the surprise route and pick a different split point. Any suggestions?

When the Star Squad leaves for the Capitol. It splits the action scenes evenly and leaves plenty of room in Mockingjay Part 2 for the plotting by Coin, the trial and the aftermath.

It would be really great if they ended it with Peeta choking Katniss. Like his hands make his way for her throat and BAM! End of Mockingjay part 1.


It would also be a great suspense for people who haven't read the book. Because most of them would want to watch part 2 too find out what happens.

I don't think Katniss being choked is suspenseful as it's obvious Katniss survives as Jennifer Lawrence is in both movies. There would also be very little interaction between Katniss and Peeta.

I think it needs to mark a transition in the journey. HG was from tribute to victor. CF was victor to rebellion. MJ part 1 should be District 13 to leaving for Capitol. MJ part 2 should be leaving for the Capitol to the epilogue.

They're splitting it? What is it with spliting the last movie that was originally a book in half? Harry Potter(something that made no sense, because the Order Of Phoenix was the longest book), Twilight, and now this? What's the bets they split Allegiant?

I don't think they split at the part where Peeta is choking Katniss, but more at the spot where they tell Katniss they found Peeta.

Like everybody else, I'm sure they will put the choking scene as the last scene. In fact, I'm giddy at the idea. Lol. Just imagining the non-readers gasping at the scene. hehe. It's a shame that Peeta won't be around much for the first movie. And I'm sure there will be tons of Gale/Katniss scenes. Grr.

I think it will end when Peeta is choking Katniss not necessarily because of suspense for whether she lives or dies (since it is obvious she survives) but as a question as to what happened to him because people who haven't read the books won't know.

Most people who see the movie will have read the book. Especially after CF. Amazon ran out of stock for the paperback version of MJ from the rush of people who had seen CF and couldn't wait for the movie of MJ to find out what happens next.

The film makers will be conscious of trying to find a balance between the two halves. As an action/adventure movie they need to make sure both halves have their share.

Ending MJ part 1, at Katniss being choked leaves most of the action to part 2 which, if it also includes what we miss out on due to Katniss's first person narrative (eg. the Snow/Coin/Plutarch plotting, the trial), means a relatively quiet first half and a bloated, rushed second half.

I think the plan is to end it at that part. They shot the scene sometime in December.

I totally think it should be right before they return with peeta
But i can easily see them ending it with Peeta choking katniss, it's a likely choice but maybe they won't do that because it's the middle of an intense part of the book.
