Question...Is Oliver Jeffers an American citizen?
I wondered if he qualifies for any American awards.
By far the favorite picture book in my library has been, "The Day the Crayons Quit."
If so, I would think it could win a Geisel award.

Honors - "Journey", "The Matchbox Diary", "Locomotive"
Longshots - "Building our House", "Parrots over Puerto Rico", "The Tree Lady", "Frog Song"

Oliver Jeffers is an American citizen. I believe he lives in Brooklyn.

I loved Flora and the Flamingo, but if you look it has gutter issues. In one spread Flamingo's leg doesn't match across the gutter. Problems such as this knock great books off the list of contenders.

I am also voting for "Mr. Wuffles" for gold! I love that book and I bought myself a copy.
Which books do you think will win the Caldecott awards?
