Norm, You are posting on Goodreads. GR is not your private gateway to your blog. If you want discussions on your blog, then keep the postings on your blog.
As to the topic. You tell me why you think a writer should be displeased this, or a reader. I will then tell you if you're hitting close to the mark of what is wrong with this business model...

Oh, I certainly meant no offence to Goodreads. I link back to Goodreads often and suggest people join her. I have removed my posts.
