Tobias had been doing the same with Wolf for the most part of the journey. Wolf disapproved somewhat of how he treated River.

They walked days, hardly speaking at all and crossing towns. River decided to stop near the castle, so she could have a view of it before she go to sleep.
Tobias stopped when River did, ate when she did, and slept when she did. He set his word subconsciously around her decisions.
Almost midnight, River hadn't sleep yet and had been watching the castle. She could even hear the music coming from it, lovely music.
Tobias also heard the music, sweetly and clearly.
"Do you dance?" she asked him. She knew he was also awake.
Tobias shook his head quickly, urgently.
She rolled her eyes and smiled. "I wasn't going to ask you out..." she lied and then she began to dance alone.
Tobias shrugged, as was his wont, and watched her dance.
Red watched her peacefully, and River sang the lullaby which combined well with the almost inaudible music of the royals.
Tobias decided he would sleep soon, as he felt suddenly tired.
River yawned but still kept dancing, forgetting everything that surround her.
Tobias lay backwards; Wolf moved for him to lean on.
Red tried to persuade River to go to sleep, but she wouldn't give in.
Tobias soon fell asleep, closely followed by Wolf.
After hours of singing she felt asleep on the ground.
Tobias slept long and deeply, as usual.
