Niilo S | 11 comments I found two (or perhaps three) versions of same book which I can not combine for some reason. I think these should be combined:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

And what is this:
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
Incorrect author? Or something else?

I guess the reason I can not combine these editions is that the authors do not match. I hope someone with more experience can check these.

Z-squared | 8575 comments Niilo, the first two can't be combined because they have slightly different names entered as the primary author:
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...

You could manually change the primary author of one of those record to match the other and then combine, but it looks to me that more than just a single book has that problem. In fact, I'd say those authors need to be merged. Since neither profile has been claimed by the author (i.e., neither is a Goodreads author), you should be able to combine the author profiles. That will automatically combine the book lists associated with each profile into one. To do so, click on "edit data" next to "About this author" on the author page, change the name to match the other profile, and then click ok. The rule on this, I believe, is to use the name the author has used on his covers the most, but it can get confusing if an author has used or discarded their middle initial an equal number of times. In that case, I just keep the middle initial because it's more informative. So if I were you, I'd edit the Kevin Mitnick profile to be Kevin D. Mitnick, then once the profiles were merged, I'd start combining his books. Do you want to do that yourself?

As for the third link, yeah, I'm thinking that's a goof on Amazon's part that got imported with the last update. I would change the author on that book to Kevin D. Mitnick and then combine with the other editions.

Niilo S | 11 comments Thanks for advice. I merged the authors.

However, the third case is strange. Check the book in Amazon (especially the customer review by Dylan W).

Z-squared | 8575 comments Huh, you're right. THat's probably why it's not for sale on Amazon anymore. i"m not sure what the policy is for fraudulent book entries on Goodreads. Anyone want to comment? Maybe they get nab'd?

A review is hardly legal proof. I'd just change the author to be the correct one.

If the copyright holder objects, they should contact Support directly. There's a process for that.
