Question for nook owners

So with the nook you have to bye your books through barnes and noble. Most of the time they are pretty good with having the books available.But there are times when they never get the book in(like Wethering the storm). Is there a place I can download books for my nook other than barnes and noble???

I found that many of the books I picked were not available for the Nook but they were on amazon. I then bought a Kindle. I do remember before I had my kindle I did buy a book on smashwords then hooked my Nook up to my computer and transferred it.

Thank you! I will check on smashwords!!! Love my nook but hate that barnes and noble are not up to speed with carrying books like amazon..

If you have a nook hd you can download the kindle app. 99% of the books I read now are through the kindle app.
