Dee (cupiscent) | 5 comments We're in the middle of a heatwave here in Melbourne, and also my booklist displays seem to be messing up, so I'd like a second opinion that something odd is going on here.

But it seems to me that this book and this book should be editions of the same title, and are not?

I say this because, for me, one is marked "want to read" and one is marked "read", and surely that shouldn't happen?

When I try to combine editions, it doesn't appear to be possible, but as I said: heatwave, brainfade, maybe I'm missing something.

Isa (crumbsandletters) | 60 comments Dee, you couldn't combine them because they were already combined like Kariema said. I looked through your shelves and can only find one copy of it listed. That it previously appeared twice might be because you added the to-read one at one point and then reviewed the other edition, effectively shelving both of them. It happens, I've got like three different editions of the same Harry Potter book shelved since I own all three. As I said, I couldn't find a second edition of it in your shelves now, but maybe it just doesn't show up for me. If it does for you, you can remove it by going into your shelves and clicking the x on the far right next to the respective book.

Hi Isa, thanks - I removed the second one last night, after Kariema said they looked combined. They were both still showing up - probably because of the situation you describe - so I just removed the still "to-read" one.

It seems odd that GoodReads permits glitches like that, but hey, nothing's perfect, and everything else here is pretty good. :)

Some users really want to be able to review more than one edition of a book. https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/7...

Dee (cupiscent) | 5 comments Good to know, Rivka, thanks!

I didn't intentionally do that, though. I just typed the title into the "what are you reading?" box on my main page. I would've thought it would automatically take the edition that I already had on my to-read list, but apparently it didn't.
