Liked, Disliked, Even Read?

So I just finished reading Defy by Sara B. Larson, and I was wondering if those of you out there who have read it liked it? Or those of you who haven't, are intrigued by it and want to read it?

I personally thought it was an AMAZING book.

I was excited by the description so requested it off Netgalley. I loved it and am very sad to see all the negative posts about it. I rated it at 3 stars as it was not over the top exciting but it was nowhere near as terrible as lot of the reviews i read said it was.

I loved it! :)

I really loved this story... I hope it gets more hype!

Well granted I don't really remember it because I read it on a midnight air ride home, but from what I do remember I thought it was pretty good and had loads of potential but I recall not liking the ending.

I really liked this book! Although, I feel like it would be better off though without a sequel.... I found it ended well enough.
=D

I loved this book and read it in one sitting!

This was one of those annoying books that I simultaneously loved and hated (much like the Selection and Evermore). I loved the premise (any high fantasy, kingdom-setting novels excite me) but I felt the deliverance somewhat fell flat. I wanted a little more detail on the Kingdom of Antion and the politics involved instead of the middle 100 pages having Alex torture herself about which piece of eyecandy she'd rather be kissing. to me, this was romance (and a poor one at that, given the terrible love triangle) not the high fantasy adventure I wanted like the Ascendance Trilogy or the Throne of Glass novels. This book has potential and I will be reading the next book in the series. I loved this book, but in the back of my mind there are still a few things I can't get past. I definitely agree with Jan and Shinha there.

Rachel Very true! It had such high potential, but it fell so very flat.

Loved this book. Can't wait until the second one comes out.

It was a bit too immature for me. The romance was painful.

I Really enjoyed this book! Can't wait for the sequel

I really liked this book. There was a lot of a low reviews for this book so I was very hesitant going into it. However, as I read it, I found myself really liking it. It's no epic fantasy novel, but it is definitely worth the read. Alexa is a deeper character than what most people depicted her as.

I loved it but some things are VERY confusing

I loved the book. I thought it was a breathe of fresh air to the normal boy-is-actually-a-girl charade books i like. I was so upset that Alexa gave up Damian because she was his guard and because she was disfigured. Who gives a crap???? You love each other and he sure didn't give a crap about your disfigurement and if Damian was willing to be with you and he didn't care to think about people laughing at him for falling for his guard then Alexa should. It Just says she is insecure about herself to other people. Other than the ending i LOVED the book and can't wait for the sequel.

Absolutely LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is so much like one of my other favorite books but in a good way. She put a new spin on it. For me there could have been a teensy bit more action but i am so mad at how it ended. I wanted to curl up into a little ball and die. The sequel sounds great but i will need more otp scenes. ALexa and Damien are so great together. The end gave me the feels. All in all the book was fast paced and perfect.

I thought it was great!
