Howdy folks. I'm new to the the group as well as new to Goodreads in general. My sister told me about the website a few months ago, but it took me until summer break to find the time to check things out.
I'm not a huge user of social websites, so it's taken me a bit of time to figure things out. I didn't realize discussion topics were like forum threads until, well, basically today, when I wondered, wow, how am I suddenly getting all these emails...?
Color me n00b.
Anyway, I mostly read YA books, just because I like to know what my students are reading, and if they're full of it when they write their book reports! :) I find that kids books also seem to boil down to the best parts of adult stories, minus all the parts I wish the editor had the courage to tell the author to prune. Well, a lot of the time, anyway.
Still, I'm looking forward to reading some actual books for grownups, hopefully with some help from the group. Nice to meet everyone (and wow, there's a whole lot of everyone...)!
