Sending to Editorial Team

On the Goodreads Editorial Team page, it gives an address for sending "a book to consider."
Question: Consider for what?

For our monthly newsletters, author interviews, and other editiorial features. Essentially, most things that you'll find under the Explore section of the site.

Does that imply that the team evaluates all submitted books and determines which are suitable for those various features?

Yep! We also take into account other factors, such as a book's activity and presence on the site.

Approximately how long does it usually take to make a determination? If the author is notified, how is it done? By email?

Like the editorial departments at many institutions, because of the sheer volume we aren't able to respond to every book that's submitted. How long it takes to evaluate a given book will depend largely on editorial's needs at that time.

Syncing my existing blog to goodreads is not working
My existing blog is www.claudettealexander.com
and when I put that in I keep getting invalid url
I added feeds same invalid url I added /1/feed/post/default?alt=rrs Still invalid url

What am I doing wrong?

How do I submit my book to Goodreads' editorial department? As an e-book, it would have to be as e-mail attachment Which e-book format do you prefer?

Hi Claudette,

We've actually got a thread that's (sort-of) related to this issue here. Long story short, many authors are experiencing issues with their RSS feeds currently (both adding and updating). We've got a team of developers working on resolving the issue, and I'll be posting in that thread when we've got it resolved.

Unfortunately, we can only accept physical books at this time. Sorry about that!

Is the current issue with RSS feeds tied in any way to updates on ratings and reviews? I've noticed they seem to be taking a bit longer to update as well.

Nope-- these are unrelated; the RSS bug is specific to RSS-imported author blogs.
