Gisbelle | 25787 comments I kinda liked her character :D

message 52: by Trisha, lives on coffee (new) - rated it 3 stars

Trisha | 30284 comments I like her too...but she scares me. I can understand why it was tough for Ruth at first. Kippy's a lot to take!

Gisbelle | 25787 comments lol yeah, she was a handful.

Rebecca (bexlibris) | 54 comments I understand why Ruth may have found her frustrating but I really liked Kippy she is probably great in smaller doses.

Katie | 1999 comments Oh, that salad was horrible. I'm not sure why Dom thought that was a salad. I've never heard of a salad like that.

re: Kippy- I was surprised by that too.

Megan | 2871 comments Some of the foods mentioned were kind of weird.

@silvia
I agree about the age difference between Kippy and Davey, but with everything she's been through she may be more mature in a way that most teens her age aren't.

message 62: by Rebecca (last edited Feb 09, 2014 06:13AM) (new) - rated it 4 stars

Rebecca (bexlibris) | 54 comments I don't think Kippy is mature. She is smart, and odd but she doesn't really know that much about people- at least I don't think she does. She is very awkward and still growing.

Besides who does say "sex relationship"?

But I also think that Davey, given everything that he has seen, wants that "innocence". Kippy is nice and has been effected by death but she hasn't been scarred the way that he has. Besides they have Ruth in common.

That said I do think the 5 year age difference is odd- even though neither of their brains are fully developed he is a little too old to be making out with a teenager (and not even a late teen...)

Megan | 2871 comments Rebecca, I agree with the point you just made there.

I forgot that Kippy was only 16, I kept thinking that she was 18, the same age as Ruth, but Ruth got held back a grade or two and that's why they're in the same grade.

Trisha | 30284 comments Yeah, I know, right? 16! and 21

yikes. I can see the dad's concern. I'D be flipping out if I had a 16 that was trying to date a 21 year old.

Rebecca (bexlibris) | 54 comments I was a little confused by Ruth being held back too. I think Kippy may be on her way to 17- because Ruth just turned 18 (?) and she was held back a year (with Libby). Which reminds me, did anyone else feel like Libby's learning disability was pointed out a little too much? (I think I counted 3 times within the first few times of meeting her?) It didn't seem to have any role in the story and it seems like an odd thing for Kippy/the author to keep pointing out?

Megan | 2871 comments I think Ruth did just turn 18 before she was killed.

I didn't really understand why Libby's learning disability was pointed out so much. I thought at first that maybe it had to do with the murder or the story of the book, but it didn't. At times I even thought that the author was making fun of Libby and I didn't like that.

Now I did read that there is going to be a sequel to No One Else Can Have You, so maybe it might be something about it in the second book.

Rebecca (bexlibris) | 54 comments I didn't know these was going to be a sequel but I see it on the author's page. Maybe it will come in then. I agree it did feel like it was mocking in a way.

Katie | 1999 comments I've finished this book, and I really liked it overall.

Now is anyone else wondering what the sequel is going to be about? Ralph is going to be going to jail, so is someone else going to become a murderer and Kippy is going to have to investigate them?

Katie | 1999 comments Yeah, I wonder about the sequel, too.
