Lobstergirl of two editions of A Moveable Feast. We have the regular edition, and the restored edition. When I shelved and read the restored edition, all editions were combined. Now today I see a friend of mine has read, rated and reviewed the regular edition - and in the feed it looks like I myself haven't read and rated the book, which is disturbing. When my friend and I have read the same book, I want to see our ratings side by side. That's the whole point of having your own rating appear in the feed, next to the ratings of your friends and the people you follow. So you can compare.

A super is required to combine or separate a book with more than 10,000 reviews, it seems. (This must be a new thing.)

Yet the librarian who separated out the restored edition and left a librarian note asking that it not be combined is not a super, so she must have done the separation before this rule was instituted.

In my opinion, although there are differences between the original and the restored editions, they are not substantial enough for them to be considered separate books. In the same way that we combine a Russian original and the English translation of the Russian original, these two works should be combined.

If you and your friend were sitting around and she said, "I read The Moveable Feast" and you had read The Moveable Feast: Restored Edition, you wouldn't say, "Oh, I didn't read that book." Of course you would say, "So did I." Because while they have slight differences, they are not different books.

If one person read the original and another read the restored, they can elucidate this in a review.

Here are the editions that need to be combined:
