An ideal morning for me starts when it is still dark out, then waking up just before the alarm clock, knowing that I have that extra minute or two of time to savour the warmth under my blanket. Then after getting up, to have a minute or two to make coffee - maybe even the entire 8-10 minutes it takes to watch it drip down and fill the pot. Then, have one of my groggy kids get up and actually be quiet. Maybe sit on the couch and read them a book and just enjoy the calm before the storm of the day.
I guess I should put up a warning - REBECCA's posts may be unsuitable for those under the age of 18.

Ideal morning - up early, coffee, breakfast (biscuits, gravy, eggs and bacon, maybe some home-made jam for extra biscuits), work in the garden or make some home-brew, maybe a little reading, then a trip to the farmer's market.
Up when I'm ready (always sleep in more when its dark out, summer I'm usually up by 6!), fry-up and lots of tea and a bit of a read then I'm ready to take on the world!
Bowl of cereal on the patio in the sunshine, followed by reading, also in the sunshine.. Sigh. Cant wait for summer...
Hey, good to see this thread again. My ideal morning hasn't changed. No hurry to get out of bed, and beyond that, none of your dammed business.
My ideal morning means no alarm is going to ring. I get up when I want, make my flavoured coffee (usually caramel), curl up on my couch and read. My husband is kind enough to leave me alone and watch tv in the bedroom. If the weather is nice I read on my deck.
