L NO THEY HAVE TO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stenedria I think including the epilogue would be great. The movie wouldn't feel complete without it.

I see your point and I hope they do that. Getting older people to play them really isn't necessary. I also think making them appear older like in Harry Potter would be best.

Jennifer You kind of have to because it's important to the ending of the story

Kristine The director has said that it ends with Katniss hunting.

Kristine No, Mockingjay Part 2. But ending it with Katniss hunting doesn't mean the epilogue isn't included.

I think it bookends the beginning of HG. Hunting, for Katniss, means normality. It's where she's happy.

Abby Kilpatrick YES

Alyssha OF COURSE THEY HAVE TOO!!! what kind of question is this? ... If they dont include the epilogue, the world will eennndd!!!!! lol jk. but im serious :/ if they dont, the series will never be complete and all of the human race will die slooowly :p

Hayley I think it should. I think at the end of the movie Peeta should say " Real or not Real " , Katniss says " real" screen goes black for like 5 seconds all the fan girls freaking out then its their kids and their older selves in the meadow

Morgan W. I personally feel they should have it in the movie. I liked the way it ended things. It showed that, while they found something like happiness, they were still haunted by the things that had happened to them. It's what made me like the ending so much...

Crystal Wang They HAVE to put the epilogue in! The movie just won't be complete without it!

Kristine It would likely need a voice-over to portray most of the epilogue eg. Katniss's fear during pregnancy etc. To put everything in would make it quite long.

I think they'll have Peeta baking (perhaps in his family's rebuilt bakery)and Katniss hunting. And their children playing in the meadow that's turned green again with Peeta and Katniss looking on. That's all that's needed, I think.

Yadira Corral They should put an epilogue! Without it the movie would feel incomplete and unsatisfying!

Ella I saw something saying it should end with Peeta asking Real or not real then go onto the epilogue then after the epilogue the screen goes black and Katniss says 'real'. It's pretty unlikely it would end that way but it would be a cool ending.

I would rather it ending with the epilogue but as long as the movie stays true to the book I'm happy. Well minus all the sad stuff that happens in the book, but yea I hope it's faithful to the book.

Nurlely They HAVE TO include the Epilogue. The story starts with Katniss going into the Hunger Games it must end with Katniss finding her bright days after what the horrible games and war did to her.

It will be a silly thing to consider leaving the Epilogue out. It is part of the series.

Jenaya I think if they are going too, then they have to change it around and make it better. Because the epilogue in the book sucks to be honest. I mean I am glad we find out who she ends up with and stuff, but it was rushed and not very good, so if they do. I hope they spice it up and make it worth it!!

Lovetoread47 Yes. It is part of the series. Maybe the director can also add from Katniss's point of view, closure notes on Gayle, Hamish, Katniss's mom.

Violet Most definitely. After such a tumultuous journey, we deserve a little reassurance that things were better. Happier. Still remembering but healing, you know? Also, how much more normal things seem, and even if their kids read about them in their TB, how simply scripting a note down, can not even begin to explain the real trial- the epilogue is of utmost importance. Its absurd to even suggest leaving it out!

Yeah!!!

Victoria Zator yes they have to put the epilogue in the movie of hunger games mocking jay

Jennifer Ashley wrote: "See, I hated the ending. I was happy to be done with that series. I think losing the epilogue would allow people a kind of shock, it stopping so suddenly."

Why did you dislike the ending

message 25: by Cat (new) - rated it 3 stars

Cat No, the epilogue was terrible anyway.

Work_in_progress Christina wrote: "I don't know if they should. It's not like it's the Harry Potter epilogue. Mockingjay's is only a page short and nothing much happens."
They have to add the epilogue, i see that some people aren't happy with the end, but if so they shouldn't watch the movies for the trilogy. The epilogue is a part of the book that is important, if it's in the book it should be in the movie.

virrr Yes. I feel like people should see the ending. Know that she´s going to be happy. After all Katniss went through, she deserves it. So does the audience. We all want to see our girl on fire happy!

message 28: by Mike (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mike Maybe he extended the epilogue, people. I mean, you can't take a page and translate into a full scene. Maybe after we learn that Katniss is married and get a glimpse of her kids, she goes hunting for the last time and sees a mockingjay or something. That would be really emotional and a fitting ending to the series that captured me so thoroughly.

Kristine Fans of the book will be expecting it. And it shows life goes on.

Work_in_progress I think they should add it just as it is, It should be short clips of the leading up to their kids with katniss's voice in the background discussing it to the viewers.

Morgan W. I like the idea of showing Katniss hunting and Peeta baking with a voice over for the epilogue.
For me, it's not so much the "happy ending." If anything, I think the epilogue makes it more realistic. Sure, it would be romantic to have it end with the whole Real/Not Real thing being the ending. But from what I got from the series was that romance was not exactly the main theme. I mean, yeah, it was important, but particularly in Mockingjay it was a lot deeper than that.
The epilogue showed Katniss and Peeta living somewhat happily, but it also showed that they were always haunted by the past. Which is very realistic. The past often haunts us, even if we are mostly happy. And the part about their children reading about the Hunger Games in textbooks. I think that is incredibly important. It shows, again, how the past will always be there.
I dunno, I just thought it was a really important part of the story...

L I actually love the idea of a voice over because it hasn't been used before they should end it at the real or no real then show like the future with a voice over and you see in a sequence of events that Katniss narrates in the story they can even use the song as a voice over too they can literally use the epilogue as a voice over and you see katniss during her pregnancies and it ends with her and peeta looking out the window as their children play by the tree and katniss literally recites the exact words of the epilogue

Gracie Twidale They should definitely!! They need tooo! I agree it should have a voice over, but it should have their children playing in the field with the voice over

Sandi Hart What about Annie's and Finnick's child. Isn't that in the epilogue?

Sandi Hart It was metioned in the book.

Bonia totally.

Sandi Hart But will they metion that?

🧡Peachy Quinn🍊 They HAVE to! It wouldn't be complete...
