ISBN checker?

I was just editing a book but didn't realize I was entering an invalid ISBN: for the first time I wasn't able to save the record, but instead got this message:

Is this a new feature? If so, it is a good addition, very helpful! Thank you :-)

EDIT: Reading the message again, maybe the record WAS saved, but the alert message is new? As I said, it's the first time I see it

I think an ISBN checker is something that was requested before, but this message says that "it may be invalid". Which makes me thing it didn't really check the ISBN, but is asking you to double-check it.

I notice that the ISBN-13 in the popup is different to the ISBN-13 in the field. 12 digits in the popup and 13 in the field. Very helpful.

No, that may be my fault: I may have taken the screenshot AFTER correcting my mistake

Sorry for the confusion! I repeated the experiment making an incorrect edit on another ISBN, made another screenshot and replaced the one in post #1 (of course I immediately fixed my own wrong edit afterwards)

The message is the same
