Share what you think of this book once you've finished it. Or before you've finished it, for that matter!

This is a long book! I've hardly made a dent in it in 10 days. Ouch.

It's amazing how much faster the last half of this book goes than the first half! I was enthralled with the story once she got older, and couldn't put it down. I see why it's considered a classic and is read in school. I think her writing style changed a few times in the last fifth of the book, which seemed odd. But over all, I loved it.

Hey--we can all see this movie at the Senior Center later this month. I'm planning on going. It's fun when the Book & Movie group piggy back on our selections!

Linda | 190 comments I preferred the film myself. For me the book dragged.

Linda | 190 comments Which film are they showing at the Senior Center - 1945 version or the 1974 remake?

Usually they show the original (old) one. But I'll check when I'm at the bookstore & let you know.
