#4 Readathon: Let's Chat
I am VERY excited for this one, even though I have to work. Maybe I'll call in sick all week. LOL When does it start?
So it turns out I am going to the library today so I am going to pick up a few books for the readathon! YAY!
Angela (: wrote: "I'll try to read that week. Hopefully I can read at least one book LOL."Any goal is a good goal! Good luck!

Me too! Have you thought about your goals yet?"
I'm thinking amount of pages. I just don't know how many. How about you?

I am hoping for an average of 250+ pages per day. So.. 250 times 7 is 1,750! :D Now just have to find out the books I am reading.
I was thinking at least 200 for a goal but more if I can. Since it's my last week before the new semester I plan on having a very lazy week of just reading and TV watching. With work when I have it.

Is it okay when we start Monday if we use a book we are partially through, or do we need to use a new book?? I think I will definitely read the following, and then decide from there:
Vicki, you can be partially through with a book when you start on Monday. Just only count the pages you read on Monday toward your total page count at the end of the readathon!

Thanks, Jacquelyn.
Jacquelyn wrote: "Vicki, you can be partially through with a book when you start on Monday. Maybe I should get all those books I began but never finished. I need to finish those! It's just so hard to get back into a book I set aside for whatever reason!
Really? Sometimes it may be hard to remember to write down what page you started on but I like seeing how many pages I read each day during the readathon! You should try it! (:
I don't know what I will read yet, but I think I'll read a few fantasy first. I've been read a lot of contemporary lately and now I'm a little sick of it :/
I'm getting really excited for this!!!
Glad you guys are excited! I am too! :D I am in the process of making daily challenges but is there anything else you guys would like to see that you think would make the readathon more exciting? I am open to all and any ideas!
I am getting really excited! I am not starting at 12 AM because I have school tomorrow but once I am home from school I will be reading like crazy! ;)
Yeah, it is kind of a bummer but on Sunday (last day of the readathon) I can read all the way up til midnight because I don't have school next Monday! (:
Looks like this week long read-a-thon was well received. I'm excited too, but wish I was off this week!

We are down to hours before we start!
Jacquelyn, I already had plans to take my freshman English classes to the library tomorrow so they can check out their books for the third quarter. So I will get some time to read but not a lot because they ask me a lot of questions and need a lot of help, but on Tuesday I plan to give them a jumpstart on their reading so I will get to read too. LOL
Vicki wrote: "9 hours, 20 minutes for me! :)"It is that many hours for everyone! :D We are all starting at the same time! :D

LOL! Good thinking! ;)
9ish hours for me.
I only have work this week which is babysitting a 2 year old girl, a 2 year old boy and a 7 month old boy. I have them Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. So those days I will read when I can and when they take their naps. Which can be long or not at all.
My semester does not start until the 18th my first classes is January 22.

Well if that is all you have this week you should get a bunch of reading in! I have school all week. Orthodontist on Tuesday. Basketball game on Wednesday. Probably will have a practice on Thursday.
But other than that I don't think we have anything!
And Friday I can read all night. And Saturday and Sunday I will be reading like CRAZY!
BUT next Monday I do not have school so on the last day of the readathon (Sunday) I can stay up until midnight to get any final pages in!
Jacquelyn, at my high school we have two quarters per semester so we have four quarters per year. They have to do an outside reading book each quarter, so they have to read four books per year besides the books we read in class together like Hunger Games and Of Mice and Men.

So you let them pick their outside reading book as long as it fits their reading level?
I'm trying to finish at least one of the books I'm reading. I might go for two before the time to start!!
