Luann, thanks for doing the "grunt work" and making this easier for everyone. Will you be the one to update this list every month or will it be the person who was chosen for that month?BTW, I've started watching "Lost" on DVD. I'm still on the first season but I'm really enjoying it! Thanks for recommending it--I didn't know what I was missing out on all this time!
Lyn wrote: "Great idea Luann - It's not only easier, but it is really neat to see the history. Thanks"It does give a nice overview of our history as a group, doesn't it? It's also helping out as we catch up our group bookshelf.

I'll update it each month since I'm the one who can edit my post. We'll keep the list right there at the top so it's easy to find and all the information is in one place.
Yay! I'm glad you like Lost! I'm going to loan my season one DVDs to my brother & his wife and see if I can't get a few more people hooked on it. :)
the list looks great, this will be so much easier for everyone to check before picking a shelf :0)Plus I already find myself using the links ;op
I love the fact that we have the list now except for the fact that I joined this group way too late. I missed fantasy, mystery, historical fiction and young adult. Those are some of my favorite genres. Oh, well, I guess the whole point is to grow, isn't it.:(
unless they come up again with alternate spelling like on the list of shelves for shelf-a-Thon :op*laughing*
Although I hope we have a nice variety before we start repeating. I guess we can leave that up to the shelf pickers. They can be the ones who decide.
I think we definitely will have a very nice variety before the repeats start. I'm finding the readers here on this site are very good at stepping out of their comfort zones. I'm actually very impressed with the amount of books that have been read per shelf considering the amount of people who participate in the monthly shelf reads.WAY TO GO GUYS!!!!
Historical fiction... hmmm I think I have a couple of books that cover that...
Typically right away, Suzanne! Thanks for the nudge. I've been involved with the end of the school year and not thinking about much else. I'll get the ball rolling!
My name has not been pulled yet, but I wait patiently LOL ;0pI'm constantly debating what I would pick, but there are so many good shelves that it's kind of a relief when someone else selects another good one I can check off *giggle*
Thanks for your thoughts though Tara :0)
Wow, Slayermel, that is weird. You have been around so long, not to have been picked.
Another bit of trivia, after September it will be 24 months, which I believe means that the mystery shelf can go back in the mix. (not that I am suggesting that, there are so many good shelves we haven't used yet, lol)

Since we AREN"T suggesting shelves...I keep hoping someone will pick biographies. I have so many I want to read, but I never get around to them.
Lynne I'm there with you, since we AREN"T suggesting I won't tell you about my plans forBiorgaphies

True Crime
Vampires
Horror

Film
But that's just to name a few :op
Oh Graphic novels would be a fun one! Vampires! Film! Of course, I will not share my favorites of the shelves you picked. :P
Susan you have me laughing so hard right now that I can't stop crying. Glad your okay! But it's your choice Hunny :0D

What do you mean by Graphic Novels?? :)
examples
They are full stories like a book but in Comic Book form, There are so many really good ones out there that don't get the credit they deserve as people chalk them up to being for kids, or just plain old comics. So sad :0(
I read "watchmen" and thought is was great. It was my first graphic novel. I have heard that "Cowboys and Aliens" is also very good.
Oooooooh Lynne you may have just found me my western for the month lol. I've been waiting for the movie, did not realize it was based on a graphic novel, gonna have to look into this now.
I read the completed Maus in college as well, and just read Persepolis this last year - enjoyed them both

Thanks, Bea. I tried to fit in as many different books I could find at home. I wasn't entirely too happy with the picture. I think I need to improve on my photography skills ;p

Tien, did you miss my observation in #37 that the shelf list (#1) needs updating? It ends with my selection in March.

No, it's just that Luann posted that message so she has to be the one to edit it. I can't do anything, sorry, Luann might have missed your note though, so I'll PM her right now.

Not sure which thread to post this on, but I thought you all would want to see it. Thanks to Ebony's pick for December, we're ahead of the curve on this:
IBM says steampunk will be totally hip in 2013
