Read the book before the movie and share your thoughts!

Janelle | 9 comments Cathy and Chris sleeping together. It is a big part in the Book and in how the rest of the Dollabganger story is played out. If that doesnt happen then if they do the rest of the series in movies like I've heard then they would have to change the entire story basically. Especially in Seeds of Yesterday.

Nicki Bucchino | 3 comments I agree, Janelle, that scene is vital to the whole story! The original movie left no room for the sequels, not only did that scene not happen, but they killed off the mom!

Janelle | 9 comments I know!!! I was so mad when I watched the movie when I was older after I read the books. I think that rendition gave the Book absolutely no justice at all.

Donna Barker | 3 comments I agree I personally thought the movie was AWFUL!!! I have hopes this one will be better

Nicki Bucchino | 3 comments The trailers look like this movie will follow the book much more closely. I am excited to see it!

Henry Hobbs | 1 comments They need to establish the Cathy and Chris thing and not kill off the mother in order for the rest of the series to make any sense.

My worry is that they will turn it into a romance when in fact, that couldn't be further from he truth. At least in the first one.

Rachel McLaughlin (raemac) I'm interested to see how they show the twins' physical and mental transformations from happy and carefree to frail and sad. Such a heartbreaking part of the story!! I'm interested to see how the child actors do.

Liz Bell | 6 comments When the kids realize the mother is poisoning them. Couldn't be anything worse than your own mother trying to kill you.

Liz (swiviol) | 3 comments Oh wow, they killed off the mom in the first movie?!

From the book, it sounded like it was the mom. Weird that the grandma kept giving them the donuts though when she originally said no sweets unless they were "good."

Denise | 4 comments Im ready to see this. And I hope to God its better than the 80s adaption.

I expect to see lots of the ballet, Chris and Carey's relationship, and the little mouse.

Also the scene where the grandmother tears Cathy's hair.

Becka Lloyd (kysrinaria) | 2 comments I kind of hope they have the tar in cathy's hair scene. Because while in the old movie, you saw some of the grandmother's discipline...but she only cut cathy's hair? The tar was much more psychologically damaging!

message 13: by Galadriel (new)

Galadriel Thoman (khylira) | 4 comments My first thought was the tar, too. That scene in the book, with Christopher getting the tar out so they wouldn't have to cut her hair, the two weeks of starving because of it...the tar was the turning point for me, more so even than the poison. I like that this new movie seems to be following the book- and I heard they already gave the go ahead for Petals on the Wind so no killing off the mom in this one! The first movie was awful.

DAulan Collins (daulan-collins) | 5 comments Cory dieing because of the extra donuts he was getting when he was good. It showed the cruelness of the mother and grandmother, even though the mother said she was just trying to make them sick so she could get them out of the house. Oh please!!!!!

message 15: by Nicki Bucchino (new)

Nicki Bucchino | 3 comments Hhhhmmmm, well, it may just be that I am such a huge fan of the books, and hate to see major storyline points changed, but after 26 minutes, I am already unimpressed....I hope it gets better :/
