Dilyara will make Go a killer?

Amanda I don't think it will be anything too major. I reckon they'll just have Amy get her comeuppence or else somehow Nick will be charged with her murder.

Rjboyer43 While reading the book I initially thought Go was the killer. However, I imagine that Amy will get her comeuppence for the movie. I can't imagine the book ending would translate well for the film.

Melissa I agree. I think Amy will get what she deserves in the movie. My complaint about the book was the ending left too much to the imagination...that it didn't tie up everything. I think they can make the movie ending much better than the book (think The Firm, Catching Fire).

Dana I hope they do not change the ending of the book for the movie. I really liked the ending of the book and think changing it would be a cop out.

Unfortunately they are though. Gillian Flynn herself said she really enjoyed taking her story and completely changing the ending. I agree though I am very disappointed with this. I think for movies though we do have to expect that our beloved books are going to be changed. I think for a movie it is more desirable to have a 'happily ever after, the bad guy gets their comeuppance' ending. At least we always have our book to go back to.

Georgiana Derwent I'm generally one of those people who hate it when film adaptations aren't faithful to the original book, but Gone Girl's ending ruined an otherwise brilliant book for me, so I'd actually quite like it to be altered for the film.

Bridget I always thought a good alternate ending would be having Desi's mother put an end to Amy's schemes. She is the most like Amy and probably thinks a lot like her. It would have that element of surprise because no one would see it coming.

Julie I liked the ending. I thought they both got exactly what they deserved.

Jas I think Bridget's idea is good. The book ending won't work well in a film, but having more actual character development would be such a sweet prize for us fans of the book.

Holly I think it's a good idea. Right now so many people have read the book that the movie's ending wouldn't really be a surprise if they kept it the same. Now that they've changed it, there will a surprise (and more hype for the movie, haha). I liked the book's ending, but perhaps the movie ending will be more satisfying for the audience? It probably won't be very anticlimactic anyway.

Cateline I don't know, the book ending was a bit Twilight Zone(ish) to me. I like that. :)

Diana Holquist I love that she changed the ending. I agree with the people who think that it ruined an otherwise masterful book. Can't wait to see the movie!

My favorite quote from her talking about the revise is this: "There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I'd spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million Lego pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie..."

I love this because it's so very Amy.....let's smash this thing!!! With a hammer! I think I see now how she developed such a diabolical character....

Bess I really like the end,bc Amy will be truly a sad life and no one likes her for real. Can imagine a life like this:??But Seriously she is a sociopath and she has no feeling for anyone. Will be good if the movie be more dynamic.

Andy I've got no issues with the ending. It was a stunner in the book and would be a stunner for the non-readers in the movie. It shows how much foresight Amy had. It was incredible. I listened to the book, and my jaw was open the whole time.

Yes, they are both despicable. But, therefore, they deserve each other.

Alexis I thought the book would end with a murder/suicide or suicide/suicide or maybe just Nick killing Amy (I really wanted her to die for real). Murder/suicide for the movie would be my guess.
