The failed mountain climber returns (version 3.0)

After some careful thought and a look at the shelf, I've decided this year to set my sights on Mont Blanc rather than going for Vancouver yet again, (and failing yet again!) The fact is that this challenge has helped (a bit) but I'm now left with all the really HUGE ones. The smaller ones have gone. Even 24 means two HUGE ones a month, so it will be a challenge (as indeed it should be).
There are three on my currently reading shelf that squeak in under the wire. I was 40% done with The Magic Mountain at the turn of the year, so that will be good, and then there is a big history book that I have hardly made any impression on at all, and a biography of Thomas Mann, also more than half still unread. So I might just manage three within the next six weeks or so!

Two huge ones per month you say? I'm already impressed! Will you be reading other books as well? How is January working out for you?
